STRANGE ANGEL (AMC; W: Mark Heyman; D: TBA) - Mark Heyman (The Skeleton Twins) has been tapped to pen the potential drama, based on the life of Jim Parsons, a brilliant rocket scientist and co-founder of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The project is based on George Pendle's book of the same name, subtitled "The Otherworldly Life of Rocket Scientist John Whiteside Parsons." Scott Free Productions' Ridley Scott and David Zucker also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED ROB LOWE PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Rob Lowe is set to re-team with "The Pro" writers Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory for another single-camera comedy about "a worldly, adventurous, and newly sober narcissist whose decision to become a devoted father happens when his son and daughter are already teenagers. He's back in his hometown making amends to his kids, his ex-wife, her second ex-husband and their younger son, all of whom have mixed feelings about his newfound parental enthusiasm." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour, which has a penalty attached. Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Marc Gurvitz will also executive produce alongside said auspices. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED SCOTT SILVERI/SHANA GOLDBERG-MEEHAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - "Friends" alums Scott Silveri and Shana Goldberg-Meehan are back in business with the Peacock for a new multi-camera comedy about "an uptight family man and his boomer parents who are attacking their golden years like it's spring break." The project, which has received a put pilot commitment, is set up at 20th Century Fox Television with Andy Ackerman already attached to direct. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED TONY PHELAN/JOAN RATER PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Tony Phelan and Joan Rater ("Grey's Anatomy") have scored a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama about "a smart, successful 30-something defense attorney who shockingly falls for one of her clients who may or may not be guilty of a brutal crime. While she continues to try a variety of cases at her firm, she pursues her lover's defense as this relationship reverberates throughout her previously well-constructed life." CBS Television Studios-based Timberman-Beverly Productions is behind the project with the company's Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly executive producing alongside said duo. (Deadline.com)
