CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Jordan Belfi has scored a recurring role on the veteran drama as Gordan, "an intelligent, hot-headed and privileged businessman who is fierce in the boardroom." (Deadline.com)
DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (Netflix) - Elena Tovar will recur on the upcoming 10-episode season as Isabel, the White House Director of Social Innovation. (Deadline.com)
DUMB PEOPLE TOWN (YouTube, New!) - Randy and Jason Sklar have landed a pilot presentation order for the streaming service for an animated comedy based on their podcast of the same name which "centers around a family in a Florida town struggling with the most important question of our times: Is it better to be dumb and happy? Or smart and miserable?" The Sklar brothers are co-writing the Sony Pictures Television-based project alongside Daniel Van Kirk and Julius Sharpe. Also executive producing are Electric Avenue's Will Arnett and Marc Forman and Artists First's Peter Principato and Joel Zadak. (Deadline.com)
FALCON & WINTER SOLDIER PROJECT (Disney OTT, New!) - Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier are the latest characters reportedly eyed for a limited series on the upcoming streaming service. Malcolm Spellman is spearheading the team-up project for Marvel Studios. (Variety.com)
FALSE PROFITS (ABC) - The Alphabet has ultimately passed on the drama pilot despite ordering three additional scripts and extending options on the cast. (Deadline.com)
FIFTH RISK, THE (Netflix, New!) - Barack and Michelle Obama have reportedly acquired Michael Lewis's latest book to develop it as "a possible series aimed to help people better understand the inner workings of the government." No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - Naomi Watts is set to topline the franchise's first spin-off, which "chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour." She'll play "a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret." (Deadline.com)
GENIUS (NGC) - Clive Davis reportedly is set to join the proposed Aretha Franklin installment as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
GOLDBUG (NBC, New!) - Daniel Tuch has sold a potential drama to the Peacock which "follows a bookish PhD student who must travel halfway across the world to find the treasure her estranged mother never could." The project, which has a penalty attached, is "inspired by a true story of gold lost in South America at the beginning of World War I." Gale Anne Hurd, Ben Watkins and Eli Dansky are also on board to executive produce for Valhalla Entertainment, Blue Monday Productions and Universal Cable Productions. (Variety.com)
GOOD GIRLS (NBC) - Lauren Stamile is bound for the show's second season as Gretchen Zorada, "a confident, intelligent and pedigreed defense attorney working on Manny's (Manny Montana) case." (Deadline.com)
GOTHAM (FOX) - Jaime Murray is bound for the show's final season as Theresa Walker: "The character emerges as Jim Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) principal nemesis in the season, who comes to Gotham harboring a dark secret about her past." (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Ashleigh LaThrop has been tapped for a role on the third season as OfMatthew, "described as a devoted Handmaid whose fidelity to Gilead causes friction amongst her peers." (Deadline.com)
MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, THE (Amazon) - David Sakurai, Carter MacIntyre and Bruce Locke will recur on the show's fourth season as Colonel Saito, "a long-serving Japanese Army officer and Aide da Camp to General Yamori"; Russ Gilmore, "a new friend of Juliana's"; and Governor General Yamori, "the new leader of the JPS," respectively. MR. IGLESIAS (Netflix) - Megyn Price and Coy Stewart are both bound for the upcoming comedy series as Jessica Dobbs, "a single mom in recovery who befriends Gabe at their AA meetings"; and Lorenzo, "a conspiracy-obsessed student who doubts the legitimacy of the moon landing and the lone gunman theory of the Kennedy assassination," respectively. STRANGERS (FOX, New!) - Jeff Davis has set up a small screen take on Dean Koontz's novel at the network, which "tells the story of several different people, thousands of miles apart, from different walks of life, finding themselves struck by unusual fears and sudden phobias. UNTITLED MEL ROBBINS PROJECT (Syndication, New!) - Motivational speaker, life strategist and author Mel Robbins is set to host a one-hour syndicated talk show from Sony Pictures Television for a fall 2019 launch.
