BLACK MIRROR (Netflix) - Zazie Beetz, Paapa Essiedu, Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton and Anjana Vasan are all bound for the anthology series' sixth season. No details about their roles were given. (Variety.com)
CLIFTON (Peacock, New!) - Aisha Porter-Christie is developing a small screen take on Margaret Peterson Haddix's novel "Running Out of Time" at the streamer, which "follows 17-year-old Jazzie Smith, who was born and raised in the idyllic, island village of Clifton - a sanctuary for runaway slaves and others who fled the United States at the height of the Civil War. When a mysterious stranger from the mainland washes up on shore, Jazzie learns a truth about the island's origins that shatters everything she thought she knew to be true." Julie Plec and Emily Cummins of My So-Called Company and Kevin Misher of Misher Films will also executive produce for Universal Television with Andy Berman serving as a producer. (Deadline.com)
DINNER WITH THE PARENTS (Freevee, New!) - The streamer has commissioned a domestic take on the long-running British comedy "Friday Night Dinner," which is "centered around two brothers in their 20s go to their mom and dad's for dinner each week and somehow get through it without actually, physically, dying of embarrassment." Writer Jon Beckerman and director Tristram Shapeero are behind the 10-episode, single-camera project with Kenton Allen and Matthew Justice as well as original series creators Robert Popper and Caroline Leddy also executive producing for Big Talk Productions and CBS Studios. Both CBS and NBC previously mounted efforts for a U.S. take. (Deadline.com)
EVERYTHING'S TRASH (Freeform) - Executive producers Phoebe Robinson and Jonathan Groff has have extended their overall deals with producer ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
KAOS (Netflix) - Jeff Goldblum has signed onto the Greek mythology series as "the seemingly all-powerful, yet desperately insecure and vengeful Zeus, who has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods. That is, until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis then sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path. Zeus becomes convinced his fall is coming - and starts to see signs of it everywhere." He replaces Hugh Grant, who had to bow out due to a scheduling conflict. (Deadline.com)
LAKE, THE (Amazon) - The streamer has ordered a second season of the Canadian comedy series. (Deadline.com)
MAN IN FULL, A (Netflix) - Diane Lane has been cast opposite Jeff Daniels in the six-episode limited series as Martha Croker: "Martha emerges from the shadow of her ex-husband (Daniels) while his real estate empire begins to crumble. Beware the dormant, Martha's rebuild poses a threat both personally and financially as three decades of marriage comes with its baggage." (Deadline.com)
MINX (HBO Max) - Creator Ellen Rapoport has signed an overall deal with the show's producer Lionsgate Television. (Deadline.com)
NEVER HAVE I EVER (Netflix) - Ivan Hernandez and Genneya Walton have both landed roles on the show's fourth season. Hernandez will play Andres, "a handsome contractor who works at the Vishwakumar house, fixing stairs and butting heads with Nalini"; while Walton is set as Ms. Thompson, "a young substitute teacher who is excited to start shaping young minds."
