BEFORE (Apple TV+) - The Billy Crystal-led limited series is the latest to pause production until the WGA strike is over. The project is believed to have completed about five episodes with Crystal, writer Sarah Thorp, director Adam Bernstein, Jet Wilkinson and Eric Roth executive producing for Paramount Television Studios. LA BREA (NBC) - Emily Wiseman will recur on the new season in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (TVLine.com)
MURDER BY THE BOOK (NBC) - The network has passed on the Retta-led drama pilot. Producer Universal Television is expected to shop it elsewhere. (Deadline.com)
SUSPECT: THE SHOOTING OF JEAN CHARLES DE MENEZES (Disney+, New!) - Writer Jeff Pope, director Paul Andrew Williams and producer Kwadjo Dajan are set to team for a new drama at the streamer about Jean Charles de Menezes, "the innocent Brazillian national shot in the UK as police hunted down a group of terrorists." Etta Pictures is producing. De Menezes' parents and other relatives will serve as consultants for the series, production of which is set to begin later this year. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED CSDR FOOTBALL PROJECT (Disney+) - The limited series based on the true story of the 2021 California School for the Deaf football team is not moving forward. Said decision was part of Disney's massive wave of cuts earlier this year. (Deadline.com)
WALKING DEAD, THE: DARYL DIXON (AMC) - Melissa McBride will reportedly reprise her role of Carol Peletier on the spin-off series, after previously opting not to appear. (Deadline.com)
