TNT Continued Its Tremendous Success Last Week with "Rizzoli & Isles" and "The Closer" Topping the Charts

TNT, home to basic cable's most popular dramas, continued its tremendous success last week with Rizzoli & Isles and The Closer topping the charts as the #1 and #2 scripted programs in total viewers. The Aug. 15 episode of Rizzoli & Isles scored 8.5 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with more than 2.3 million adults 18-49 and 3 million adults 25-54. The Closer was close on its heels with more than 8.3 million viewers, 2.2 million adults 18-49 and 2.8 million adults 25-54 in Live + 3.

Sunday night's episode of the Top 10 drama Leverage, which is enjoying its most successful season yet, averaged more than 3 million viewers in Live + Same Day, with 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 1.4 million adults 25-54.

Last Tuesday, TNT's Memphis Beat and HawthoRNe ended their seasons on high notes, with Memphis Beat delivering more than 4.9 million viewers,1.3 million adults 18-49 and 1.6 million adults 25-54 in Live + 3. HawthoRNe followed with 3.6 million viewers, 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 1.5 million adults 25-54.

TNT continues to command tremendous growth through time-shifted viewing, according to the latest Live + 7 data. The Aug. 1 episode of The Closer grew its audience to 8.5 million viewers, 2.6 million adults 18-49 and 3.3 million adults 25-54. Rizzoli & Isles solidified its ranking as basic cable's most-watched drama with 8.9 million viewers for the Aug. 1 episode, which also scored 2.8 million adults 18-49 and 3.6 million adults 25-54. Falling Skies, basic cable's top drama among key adult demos, wrapped its tremendously successful first season with more than 7.4 million viewers, 3.4 million adults 18-49 and 3.8 million adults 25-54 for the two-hour Aug. 7 season finale. And Franklin & Bash, one of basic cable's Top 5 new dramas, closed out its summer run with 3.9 million viewers, 1.9 million adults 18-49 and 1.8 million adults 25-54 for the Aug. 3 season finale.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim overall ranked #1 for Total Day Delivery of adults 18-34 and 18-49, and men 18-34 and 18-49.

Adult Swim programming accounted for 19 of the top 50 telecasts for the week on basic cable among adults 18-34, and 28 of the top 50 among men 18-34 - both more than any other network.

truTV

truTV climbed into basic cable's Top 10 networks in primetime delivery of adults 18-49 (582,000) last week, edging out high-profile networks like Comedy Central, Syfy and Discovery. The network is on track to score its best summer ever with young adults and men,

Leading the charge for truTV was the hit series Hardcore Pawn, which delivered 2 million viewers Tuesday at 9 p.m. The show ranked as basic cable's #1 show in its timeslot with men 18-49 (577,000). It also scored a strong second place among adults 18-49 (963,000) and a Top 5 finish among total viewers.

truTV's long-running hit Operation Repo ranked among ad-supported cable's Top 5 entertainment programs in its Wednesday 9 p.m. timeslot, with an outstanding 1.8 million viewers and 1 million adults 18-49.

truTV's popular World's Dumbest... scored more than 1.3 million viewers last Thursday at 10 p.m. and ranked among basic cable's Top 5 shows in its timeslot with adults 18-49 (656,000).

Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network once again scored as television's #1 destination on Monday night (7-9 p.m.) among boys 6-11, 2-11 and 9-14, earning mostly double-digit gains vs. the same time period last year. Across the night, average kids 6-11 delivery (947,000) grew by 49%, kids 2-11 (1,189,000) by 7%, kids 9-14 (686,000) by 75%, boys 6-11 (744,000) by 69%, boys 2-11 (904,000) by 24% and boys 9-14 (523,000) by 80%. Original animated comedy series The Amazing World of Gumball (7:30 p.m.), Adventure Time (8 p.m.), Regular Show (8:15 p.m.) and MAD (8:30 & 8:45 p.m.) each ranked #1 in their respective timeslots among all key boy demos, scoring mostly double-digit gains among kids and boys.

Wednesday night's line-up of alternative live-action series (8-9 p.m.) also posted solid double-digit delivery gains across kids 6-11 and 9-14, ranging between 17% and 87%. Ranking #1 in their respective time periods among all key boy demos, Dude, What Would Happen (8 p.m.) earned 58% delivery growth among kids 6-11 (798,000) and 87% growth among kids 9-14 (553,000), while Destroy Build Destroy (8:30 p.m.) earned 17% delivery growth among kids 6-11 (614,000) and 58% growth among kids 9-14 (523,000).

Friday night's presentation of the newest animated series ThunderCats (8:30 p.m.) generated strong delivery gains across both kids and boys vs. the same time period last year: kids 6-11 delivery (509,000) grew by 56%, kids 2-11 (665,000) by 8%, kids 9-14 (347,000) by 5%, boys 6-11 (358,000) by 38% and boys 2-11 (426,000) by 11%.

Overall for the week, Cartoon Network earned respectable delivery gains among kids 6-11 and 9-14 - ranging between 2% and 14% - across the third week of August 2011, both in Early Evening (7-9 p.m.) and Total Day (6 a.m.-9 p.m.) performance. Versus the same time period last year, average kids 6-11 evening delivery (574,000) grew by 12% and kids 9-14 (389,000) by 14%; Total Day kids 6-11 delivery (422,000) grew by 2% and kids 9-14 (292,000) by 8%.

TBS

TBS's Emmy(R)-nominated late-night series CONAN, which is delivering outstanding year-over-year timeslot growth, scored 693,000 viewers last week, with 334,000 adults 18-34 and 519,000 adults 18-49. Meanwhile, time-shifted viewing lifted CONAN's audience for the week of Aug. 1 to 834,000 viewers; 419,000 adults 18-34; and 647,000 adults 18-49 in Live + 7.

TBS's Sunday night presentation of the blockbuster comedy Wedding Crashers drew 1.4 million viewers and ranked as basic cable's #1 movie for the week with adults 18-34 (631,000).
