EDY MENDOZA PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, COMEDY DEVELOPMENT, CBS ENTERTAINMENT
Edy Mendoza has been promoted to Vice President, Comedy Development, CBS Entertainment, it was announced today by Wendi Trilling, Executive Vice President, Comedy Series Development to whom she reports.
"Edy is an outstanding programming executive who has made significant contributions to the success of our comedy lineup," said Trilling. "Her skill in developing material and her solid relationships with producers have proven integral throughout the development process."
Mendoza, who had been Director, Comedy Development since September 2001, will continue to develop and oversee CBS's new comedy projects. Mendoza has been involved in the development of many of the Network's hit comedies including TWO AND A HALF MEN, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE as well as the upcoming entry, THE CLASS, which premieres in September.
Mendoza joined the CBS comedy development department in September 1996 as an assistant to Trilling, was named Supervisor, Comedy Development in June 1998 and was promoted to Manager, Comedy Development in June 2000.
As a student at UCLA, Mendoza interned in the CBS Media Relations department from 1994-96 while earning her bachelors degree in communications.
Mendoza serves on the Board of the Imagen Foundation, an organization that encourages the positive portrayal of Hispanics in all forms of the entertainment media.
