Santa Monica, CA (July 21, 2008) � For the first time, the wildly popular MTV series "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew" welcomes six-time Grammy Award winner Missy Elliott, who will premiere the performance of "Shake Your Pom Pom" from her forthcoming seventh studio album Block Party � on Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. For her performance, Elliott will be accompanied by the remaining top four dance crews who will work together to show off the freshest moves. Known for her groundbreaking videos and for showcasing some of hip-hop's most innovative choreography, Elliott will then watch from the audience as the crews perform to some of her most popular hits. Elliott's longtime collaborator, choreographer Hi Hat, also will be on hand throughout the episode to help the crews fine-tune routines with the superstar's sensibility.

Every week, the crews are challenged to push their creative and physical skills for the judges � JC Chasez (N*Sync), hip hop recording artist Lil Mama and choreographer Shane Sparks ("You Got Served") � and viewers at home. For this episode, each crew will dance to a Missy Elliott song and emulate a challenging piece of choreography from the video. The crews will be judged not only on the quality of their routine but also by how well they use the specific pieces of the music video.

The strength of "America's Best Dance Crew" has boosted MTV to be the #1 network in its time period (Thursday 10:00 � 11:30pm) among P12-34 across all of television, even besting broadcast. To date, the second season has reached 55.3 million total viewers (P2+), with over 27.8 million from our P12-34 core.

As the best dance crews smash it with their performances on-air, nearly 2,000 videos � ranging from hip hop, breakdance and krumping, to jazz and tap � have been submitted to http://dance.mtv.com by fans. Since the launch of the site, more than 300k users have generated over 2.5 million page views. Dancers, viewers and fans are able to check out great dance videos by their peers and friends, choose their favorites and chat with one another about the site and the series. Plus, select commentary posted online about each week's performances will be featured in special encore airings of "America's Best Dance Crew." Additionally, 30 online dancers to date have been featured on-air during this season.

"America's Best Dance Crew" at http://dancecrew.mtv.com ranks as the top show area on MTV.com since the season premiered. More than 2.5 million visits have been made to the show area plus over 10 million page views. Additionally, 11 million streams have been delivered of "America's Best Dance Crew" content this season. Through the first four weeks of season two, average weekly uniques have increased +22% from season one.

In addition, this go-to site features photos and bios of all the crews, backstage gossip and exclusive video. Once an episode premieres on-air, the polls immediately open online for fans to cast their votes for their favorite crew. Viewers also can chat online about the episodes, read other comments and discuss which crews are hot � and which ones are not. Full episodes are available to view on demand six days after air at http://dancecrew.mtv.com.

Plus, exclusive for fans are real-time daily reports from rehearsals including any injury reports, backstage interviews and performance analyses at http://remotecontrol.mtv.com/category/shows/dance-crew/. These detailed blogs post daily with original behind-the-scenes videos and photos, allowing viewers a unique perspective on each crew's experience on the show.

"America's Best Dance Crew" is hosted by Mario Lopez and shot on location in Los Angeles as dance crews of five to seven members perform their hottest moves for dance supremacy and a $100,000 cash prize. Every performance-themed episode gives insight into the crews' emotion, spirit and inspiration as they step up to the challenge and showcase their innovative choreography and skills. Viewers from around the country choose their favorite crews via text messaging, phone and online voting (http://dancecrew.mtv.com). The two weakest teams as determined by voting show their best moves for the judges with the hope of advancing to the next round. One crew will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing the nation's best dance crew.
