THE CAPE (NBC) - Tom Wheeler's drama has received the go ahead to produce a pilot. The Universal Media Studios-based hour, which is set in a fictionalized version of Los Angeles, revolves around "a former cop framed for a crime who becomes the Cape, a masked hero, to clear his name and reunite with his son." Wheeler penned the project and is executive producing alongside BermanBraun's Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman. "Cape" snagged a script commitment from the Peacock back in September.

THE CUBE (CBS) - Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") has been tapped to host the potential game show, TheWrap.com reports. The project, which is now set up at CBS, is based on the ITV series of the same name in which "folks try to win big bucks by completing simple tasks inside a chamber designed to induce stress." FOX initially flirted with importing the format last year but ultimately passed. In addition to hosting, Harris will executive produce the hour alongside All3Media-based Objective Television's Adam Adler, Andrew Newman and Andrew O'Connor. The pilot is set to tape in London later this year.

MIND HUNTER (HBO, New!) - Charlize Theron and David Fincher are developing a drama series based on John Douglas and Mark Olshaker's book of the same name, subtitled "Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit." Scott Buck ("Dexter") is penning the hour, which "recounts Douglas' experiences as a top FBI investigator of serial killers and rapists, and the profiling techniques he developed." Fox 21 is the studio attached with Theron executive producing via her Denver and Delilah banner. Beth Kono, J.J. Harris and Jennifer Orme Erwin likewise are attached as executive producers, as are Buck and Fincher.

NIKITA (The CW) - Danny Cannon ("The Forgotten") has signed on to direct the drama pilot, which follows "what happens when the original Nikita goes rogue - and a replacement is brought in." He'll work from a script by Craig Silverstein, who's executive producing alongside McG and Peter Johnson for Warner Bros. Television.

OFF THE MAP (ABC) - Martin Henderson ("Inside the Box") has been cast as one of the lead roles on the drama pilot, about "three doctors, one of them played by Henderson, who, eager for a fresh start, go to work at an isolated tropical clinic." Henderson's involvement is the result of a talent holding deal the actor signed with the network late last year. Betsy Beers, Shonda Rhimes and creator Jenna Bans are the executive producers for ABC Studios.

OUTSOURCED (NBC) - The long-in-the-works comedy project has snagged a pilot commitment from the Peacock. The single-camera half-hour, which was originally bought back in October of 2007, centers "on a recently demoted manager of a novelties company who is shipped off to India to manage a ragtag group of customer service reps." Said effort is based on George Wing and John Jeffcoat's 2006 feature of the same name with Josh Hamilton in the lead role. Robert Borden penned the adaptation while Ken Kwapis is attached to direct. Borden, Kwapis, Tom Gorai and David Skinner then will executive produce with Alexandra Beattie serving as a co-executive producer.

UNTITLED IRS PROJECT (FOX) - The network has ordered a pilot for Ron Howard's workplace comedy set at an Internal Revenue Service district office. Brent Forrester penned the half-hour, which is set up at 20th Century Fox Television and Howard's Imagine Television. FOX originally snagged the multi-camera project back in September with a hefty put pilot commitment. Forrester and Howard are executive producing alongside the latter's Imagine partners Brian Grazer and David Nevins.

THE WHOLE TRUTH (ABC) - Alex Graves ("Fringe") has signed on for helming duties on the drama pilot, which "chronicles the building of a case from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution." Tom Donaghy penned the hour for the Warner Bros. Television-based Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Graves will also executive produce alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman with Donaghy and KristieAnne Reed serving as co-executive producers.
