THE NBC PEACOCK STRUTS ITS GREEN FEATHERS ONCE AGAIN IN PRIMETIME, IN HONOR OF THE COMPANY'S ANNUAL "GREEN WEEK" NOVEMBER 14-21

NEW YORK - November 11, 2010 - Familiar faces from NBC Primetime shows will inform and entertain audiences about the environment during "Green Week," which runs across the NBC Universal networks November 14-21. Primetime shows including "Law & Order: Los Angeles," "The Office," "Chase," "Community," "The Biggest Loser," "Parenthood" and "Outsourced" will include green references in their storylines as part of a collective effort to integrate environmental issues into the cultural dialogue.

"NBCU's broad portfolio of media properties provides a unique opportunity to help raise environmental awareness in a fun and engaging way that fits with each show's brand identity," said Beth Colleton, VP of Green is Universal. "Research proves that organically weaving informative pro-social themes into entertainment programming can be one of most effective ways to get a message across," said Colleton.

Viewers can catch green references in seven shows across the NBC prime schedule, plus a primetime special green documentary and "Dateline NBC" interview. Highlights include:

· In "Chase," Congressman Nevins tells Luke he is going to implement a green initiative to retrofit all U.S. Marshal offices.

· In "The Office," Michael attempts to help the planet by recycling.

· "Law & Order: Los Angeles" -- The victim is a scientist dedicated to water clean up in Los Angeles County's polluted creeks and rivers. After word gets out that the scientist was responsible for sanctions against a local company, the detectives suspect possible corporate involvement.

· Bob and Jillian give eco-minded training tips on "The Biggest Loser."

· In "Community," Annie does a school project to promote alternative fuel sources.

· On "Parenthood," Max's class creates craft projects using recycled egg cartons.

· In "Outsourced," Gupta charges his flashlight instead of using chemical batteries.

· The Prince of Wales will offer his views on solutions to the environmental crisis in "Harmony," a new feature film and television special that grows out of three decades of work by The Prince of Wales to combat climate change and find innovative solutions to the global environmental crisis.

· NBC News' Brian Williams conducts an exclusive one-on-one interview with Prince Charles, who talks about his efforts to prevent global warming and why he wants to be "the defender of nature," in a one-hour special report on "Dateline."

About Green is Universal:

Launched in May 2007, "Green is Universal" is NBC Universal's ongoing green initiative dedicated to raising Green awareness, effecting positive change to the environment, and greening its own operations. Throughout the year, NBC Universal uses it numerous media and entertainment platforms to educate the public on the environment, with over 250 hours of green-themed content airing across 42 NBCU brands.
