CANCER VIXEN (HBO) - Julie Delpy (2 Days In New York) is on track to pen the pay channel's small screen take on Marisa Acocella Marchetto's memoir of the same name, about "a cartoonist for magazines like The New Yorker and Glamour with a supercharged Manhattan lifestyle who is about to get married but must re-examine her life through wit and her animation when she is diagnosed with breast cancer." Cate Blanchett is already attached to star and executive produce the project alongside Maven Pictures partners Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray. (Deadline.com)


DELIVERANCE CREEK (Lifetime/Warner Horizon; W: Melissa Carter; D: TBA) - The cable channel has ordered a two-hour backdoor pilot for Melissa Carter's period drama, "set at the end of the Civil War and centers on Belle Barlowe who attempts to defend her family's land by any means necessary." The project comes from Warner Horizon Television and Nicholas Sparks Productions with the latter's Nicholas Sparks and Theresa Park also serving as executive producers and Elise Henderson as a co-executive producer. FRESH OFF THE BOAT (ABC, New!) - Nahnatchka Khan ("Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23") has handed a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy set in the 1990s and centers around a Chinese family that moves to Orlando, Florida. The 20th Century Fox Television-based project is based on Eddie Huang's memoir of the same name. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar also serve as executive producers while Huang will receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)


THE MONEY (HBO; W: David Milch; D: Justin Chadwick) - Brendan Gleeson ("Into the Storm") is the first to be cast on the drama, about "wealth and corruption among the super elite, focusing on American mogul and patriarch James Castman (Gleeson), who wields power and influence to expand his media empire and control his family." Said casting has triggered a pilot order for the project, which Justin Chadwick will direct and co-executive produce with Eric Roth and Sarah Caplan. Milch then is executive producing alongside Art and John Linson as well as Frank Rich. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED COLLEEN MCGUINNESS PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Colleen McGuinness ("30 Rock") has set up "a character-driven workplace comedy where a young woman in search of reconnecting with her father finds a new home and family on Fire Island" at the Peacock. Fellow "30 Rock" alums Tina Fey and Robert Carlock are also on board to executive produce the project via the former's Universal Television-based Little Stranger banner. (Deadline.com)


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "Grey's Anatomy" co-star Sandra Oh has announced she'll leave the veteran drama at the end of its upcoming 10th season (Deadline.com); "Duck Dynasty" stars the Robertsons will earn more than $200,000 an episode as part of new deal with A&E and producer Gurney Productions which includes additional seasons for the series (Deadline.com); Richard Shepard has joined WGN America's "Salem" as an executive producer/in-house director (Deadline.com); Ian Hart has been cast in a top secret role on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (EW.com);

Alicia Lagano will guest star on "Castle" as "a fugitive who takes several people hostage" (TVLine.com); Kathleen Robertson has joined the cast of "Bates Motel" as Jodi, "a smart, sexy businesswoman and artist who's as hard-charging as she is successful" (TVLine.com); Talia Balsam been cast as a political reporter on "The Good Wife" (TVLine.com); and Dreama Walker will visit "New Girl" as "a beautiful, mean girl-esque teacher at the school where Jess (Zooey Deschanel) has been hired on a temp basis" (TVLine.com).
