STANISTAN (USA/UCP; W: Andy Parker; D: TBA) - Zach Gilford and Jonathan Cake have both scored roles on the drama pilot, which follows the staff at the American compound in the Middle Eastern country of Stanistan, where State Department workers, covert CIA officers and journalists operate in a delicate balance of danger and silliness using every coping mechanism available. The former will play Phillip Guthrey, "an Infrastructure Deputy Manager for USAID and close friend of Marcie (Jennifer Carpenter)"; with Cake as Greg Weir, "an on-air foreign correspondent who is entangled in a complicated affair with Marcie." ULTIMATE GETAWAY, THE (FOX, New!) - Newcomer Kevin Costello has set up a potential drama at the network about "a commercial airline crew who, to escape the drudgery of their everyday lives, use their layovers to commit robberies in different cities across the country." Sony Pictures Television is behind the hour - which originated as an idea from Dave Johnson - with Seth Gordon, Sheldon Turner and Jennifer Klein executive producing via their respectively studio-based banners Exhibit A and Vendetta Productions. UNTITLED BOBBY BOWMAN PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Bobby Bowman ("The Millers") has set up a multi-camera comedy at the Eye billed as a workplace comedy. He'll write and executive produce the half-hour for Greg Garcia and Alix Jaffe's CBS Television Studios-based Amigos de Garcia banner. (THR.com)


UNTITLED CHRIS HARRIS PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Chris Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") has likewise sold a multi-camera comedy to the Eye about "a couple who wants to set up two friends who may be perfect for each other." CBS Television Studios is behind the half-hour with Greg Garcia and Alix Jaffe also executive producing via their studio-based Amigos de Garcia banner. (THR.com)


UNTITLED JOSH SAFRAN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Josh Safran ("Smash") has booked a potential drama at the Alphabet about "a group of diverse FBI recruits going through 21 weeks of training to become special agents at the FBI's academy in Quantico, Virginia. Although each of them has secrets and hidden reasons for enlisting, one harbors the biggest secret of all: They're a sleeper terrorist, who in the near future, has perpetrated the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since Sept. 11." Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper are also on board to executive produce via the former's self-titled banner for ABC Studios. (THR.com)


UNTITLED STEPHNIE WEIR PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Stephnie Weir ("The Millers") has sold a new comedy to the Alphabet which "centers on a branch manager in a credit union who believes he can finally shake their Podunk image and compete with the newly arrived UberBank with his new style of management."
