GREENLEAF (OWN/Lionsgate; W: Craig Wright; D: TBA) - Keith David ("Community") has been tapped for the lead role in the upcoming drama, which takes viewers into the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family and their sprawling Memphis megachurch, where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. He'll play Bishop James Greenleaf, "the charming and charismatic but brilliantly manipulative leader of Greenleaf World Ministries." Lynn Whitfield, Merle Dandridge and Desiree Ross also star. LOOP, THE (HBO, New!) - Nancy Hower and John Lehr ("10 Items or Less") are developing a new comedy at the pay channel about "a couple who downsizes everything and chooses to sail the Loop - a nautical course that cuts through the heart of America. All goes wrong when they become entangled in a smuggling ring." Said duo will write and executive produce. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED JOHN FRANCIS DALEY/JONATHAN GOLDSTEIN PROJECT (FOX, New!) - John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Vacation) have set up a single-camera comedy at the network about "a group of adult underdogs as they try to ignite a spark in their lives and stand up for themselves when their town is overrun by a teenage street gang." Said effort, which has a penalty attached, is set up at the 20th Century Fox Television-based Chernin Entertainment with Peter Chernin, Dante Di Loreto and Jenno Topping also serving as executive producers. UNTITLED MATT HUBBARD PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Matt Hubbard ("30 Rock") is back in business with the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy about Andrew and Josie, "a happily married interracial couple whose lives take a turn when they move close to Josie's family in Missouri." Universal Television is behind the project, which has a pilot production commitment, with Mike Schur and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED TEDDY ROOSEVELT PROJECT (Showtime, New!) - David McKenna (American History X) is spearheading a potential limited series at the pay channel about "the real-life heroic story of the 26th U.S. president." Electus' Ben Silverman and Sean Canino as well as Authentic Talent and Literary Management's Jon Rubinstein and Jason Egenberg are also on board to executive produce. (Variety.com)


WATCHER, THE (NBC, New!) - Alexander Cary ("Homeland") has sold a new drama to the Peacock "based on real events surrounding a young couple and their two children who move into their dream home in a small town, only to be terrorized by anonymous letters and sinister threats, and trapped in the web of a dangerous mystery." Said effort comes from Universal Television with Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
