9 MONTHS WITH COURTENEY COX (Facebook Watch) - Ample Entertainment is making the rounds with the series following the news Facebook Watch opted not to proceed with a fourth season. (Deadline.com)
ALAN WAKE (AMC, New!) - Remedy Entertainment's video game - which "follows thriller novelist Alan Wake who seeks to uncover the truth behind his wife's mysterious disappearance in the fictional town of Bright Falls, Washington" - is being developed as a TV series by the cable channel. No auspices were given. Peter Calloway had been attached as showrunner when the project first hit the marketplace in 2018. (Deadline.com)
AMERICAN GIGOLO (Showtime) - Production has been paused once again as the series will now wrap after its eighth installment, two short of its original 10-episode commitment. Said report indicates the two-week pause is the result of David Bar Katz, who took over as showrunner from the fired David Hollander, exiting over creative differences with incoming consulting producer Nikki Toscano. (Deadline.com)
AWKWAFINA IS NORA FROM QUEENS (Comedy Central) - The cable channel has renewed the series for a third season. (Deadline.com)
BIG SKY (ABC) - Jensen Ackles will guest on tonight's season finale as Beau Arlen, "a confident and charming good ol' boy from Texas who steps in as temporary Sheriff (and Jenny Hoyt's new boss) as a favor to his friend Sheriff Tubb (Patrick Gallagher)." (Deadline.com)
FIND THE LIGHT (ABC) - Sendhil Ramamurthy, Johnny Simmons, Rachel Hilson, Demetrius Grosse and Rahnuma Panthaky will star opposite Marsha Stephanie Blake in the drama pilot. Ramamurthy will play Amit, a "big-hearted, instantly likable, gentle, intuitive, well-respected relationship therapist"; with Simmons as Clay as a "charming, confident (perhaps overly-so), self-assured military veteran, therapist"; Hilson as Naomi Josef, a "fresh-faced, smart, enthusiastic idealist who leads with her heart and radiates warmth"; Grosse as Theodore Ghanem, "blue-collar "Chicago" handsome, tough, rough around the edges, cocky"; and Panthaky as Sonali, "brilliant, intuitive, impeccably put-together, relationship therapist at the "Mindful Insight Therapy Group."" (Deadline.com)
HIJACK (Apple TV+) - Emmy winner Archie Panjabi will star opposite Idris Elba in the upcoming real-time thriller as Zahra Gahfoor, "a counter terrorism officer who is on the ground when the plane is hijacked and becomes part of the investigation." (Deadline.com)
LA BREA (NBC) - Tonantzin Carmelo's Paara and Michelle Vergara Moore's Ella Jones will return as regulars for the series' second season. (Deadline.com)
QUEENIE (BET, New!) - Taraji P. Henson is in talks to star in a proposed series from BET Studios about Stephanie St. Clair, otherwise known as the "Godmother of Harlem." Leigh Davenport is behind the project, which is based on Shirley Stewart's book "The World of Stephanie St. Clair: An Entrepreneur, Race Woman and Outlaw in the Early Twentieth Century Harlem." Henson and Christine Conley will also executive produce via their TPH Entertainment banner alongside Christine and Mark Holder of Wonder Street. Janet Jackson and director Kenny Leon previously set up a biopic about St. Clair at Lifetime in 2016. (Variety.com)
REALITY BITES (Peacock) - Helen Childress is once again spearheading a TV take on her 1994 film, which "centered on the driven, idealistic Lelaina Pierce and her three best friends as they leave college and try "adulting" in the 1990s. As the world around them is on the brink of a seismic shift, they struggle to hold onto who they are, and to each other." The project is set up at Peacock with Jenna Bans, Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Danny DeVito and Casey Kyber also executive producing. The group - along with the film's director Ben Stiller - previously mounted a TV take at NBC in 2013 that didn't move forward. (THR.com)
SO HELP ME TODD (CBS) - Elizabeth Klaviter has been tapped as showrunner of the recently picked up drama series. She succeeds Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, who filled said role for the pilot. (Deadline.com)
SOMEBODY FEED PHIL (Netflix) - The 10 latest episodes of the series will be split into two seasons. The first five will roll out as part of the previously announced fifth season, due on May 25, with the other five targeted for the fall as part of season six. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED 7M FILMS PROJECT (HBO Max, New!) - Director Liza Mandelup is spearheading a documentary series at the streamer about 7M Films, "a management company that represents social media stars and TikTok dancers and is at the center of a controversy accusing it of being cult-like." Ross Dinerstein, Chrissy Teigen, Luke Dillon and Nile Cappello will also presumably executive produce for Campfire Studios, Huntley Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
