Adult Swim Ranks #1 Among Basic Cable Networks for Total Day Delivery of Adults 18-24 & 18-34 and Men 18-24

Adult Swim

Across the fourth week of November 2014, Adult Swim ranked #1 among basic cable networks for Total Day delivery of adults 18-24 & 18-34 and men 18-24.

Among the network's original programming, Adult Swim's animated series Mr. Pickles (Sunday, 11:30 p.m.) scored delivery gains among adults 18-34 & 18-49 vs. the same time period last year, while animated series Squidbillies (11:45 p.m.) increased delivery among adults 18-49. Live-action series Newsreaders (Thursday, 12 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-34.

On Saturday night, Dragon Ball Z Kai (12 a.m.), Naruto: Shippuden (12:30 a.m.) and Inuyasha: The Final Act (2 a.m.) ranked #1 their respective time periods among all targeted adults/men 18-24 & 18-34. One Piece (1 a.m.) ranked #1 in its timeslot among adults 18-24 and men 18-24 & 18-34, while Gurren Lagann (1:30 a.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among adults 18-24 & 18-34 and men 18-24.

Adult Swim programming - including Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken - accounted for 20 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, and 17 of the top 50 with men 18-34, both more than any other network.

TBS

Last Monday's episode of TBS's American Dad! has risen to 1.6 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with 1 million adults in 18-49 and 640,000 adults 18-34. For the season-to-date, American Dad! is averaging a reach of 3.3 million viewers per episode for its premieres on TBS, encores on Adult Swim and multi-platform plays.

Friday night's new episode and encore telecast of Deal With It drew a preliminary audience of 1.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery. Across all plays and platforms, Deal With It is averaging a reach of 2.5 million viewers per episode for the fall.

The Big Bang Theory on TBS continued to rule the sitcom arena last week, claiming all 20 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and adults 18-49.

Cartoon Network

For the fourth week of November 2014, Cartoon Network ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Early Prime (6-8 p.m.) delivery among all targeted boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in Total Day delivery among boys 6-11 & 9-14. Overall, Total Day delivery grew year-over-year among kids 2-11 by 9%, kids 6-11 by 16%, and kids 9-14 by 14%. Early Prime delivery overall also grew among kids 9-14 by 7%.

Propelled by original animated programming, Cartoon Network ranked as television's #1 destination among kids 6-11 & 9-14 and all targeted boys on Thursday Night (6-8 p.m.), charting double and triple-digit delivery gains vs. last year across all key demos, ranging between 22% and 116%. Among the night's ratings highlights, Clarence (6:30 p.m.) scored as the #1 telecast of the day among kids 9-14, Steven Universe (6:45 p.m.) ranked #1 among boys 2-11, and Regular Show (7:30 p.m.) was #1 among boys 6-11 & 9-14. All three new episode premieres also ranked #1 in their time periods among kids 6-11 & 9-14 and all targeted boys. Teen Titans Go! (6 p.m.) stood #1 in its timeslot among all kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14. All Thursday night episode premieres increased average delivery among all targeted demos vs. last year's time periods, ranging between 8% and 197%.

Additional highlights of the week include Cartoon Network ranking as the #1 television network on all TV among kids 2-11 and all boy demos on Wednesday Night, and #1 among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday night.

On Saturday, a new episode of The Legends of Chima (12:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all targeted boys, also scoring double-digit delivery gains among all targeted kids and boys. The animated movie premiere of The Adventures of TinTin (5:30 p.m.) grew all kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 vs. the same time period in 2013. And Saturday morning programming (7-11 a.m.) earned year-over-year gains among all targeted demos, highlighted by Sonic Boom (7 a.m.), which ranked #1 in its time period among boys 6-11/9-14; and Pokémon the Series XY (8 a.m.), which ranked #1 in its time period among kids 9-14 & boys 9-14. Both new episode premieres grew delivery across all targeted demos vs. the same time period last year, ranging from 31% to 85%.

TNT

The international hit Transporter The Series scored strong growth last week on TNT, with Saturday night's back-to-back episodes averaging an initial audience of more than 1.6 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery across the primetime telecasts and late-night encores, an increase of +12% over the prior week. The show garnered even bigger increases in key demos, including +37% among adults 18-34, +28% among adults 18-49 and +29% among adults 25-54. With multiplatform viewing included, Transporter The Series is averaging a reach of 3.3 million viewers for the season-to-date.

Friday night's episode of On the Menu has so far brought in 826,000 viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for the premiere and encore. Season-to-date, On the Menu is averaging a reach of 2.5 million viewers per episode across all replays and platforms.

NBA TV

NBA TV's total day viewership is up 18% for the month of November when compared with the same time period last year. Additionally, the network is delivering considerable growth across key demos, including an +11% increase among adults 18-49 and a +10% increase among men 18-49.

Since the beginning of the 2014-15 NBA regular season, premiere episodes of The Starters are also up 44% when compared to 2013, with increases across key demos including +23% among adults 18-49, +45% among men 18-49 and +20% in men 18-34.
