TNT's New Fantasy-Adventure Series "The Librarians" Ranks as the Week's Most-Watched Entertainment Program on Basic Cable
Turner spins the numbers for the week of December 1-7.

TNT's new fantasy-adventure series The Librarians, which launched with cable's biggest Live + Same Day audience for a series debut so far this year, ranked as the week's most-watched entertainment program on basic cable, as well as one of the Top 5 entertainment programs among adults 25-54. The new series also joined Major Crimes in giving TNT two of basic cable's Top 3 entertainment programs for the week among households.

TNT's series premiere of The Librarians drew a combined audience of 7.3 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for its two-hour premiere and encore. The series opened with 5.4 million viewers for its 8-10 p.m. premiere telecast, edging out TNT's The Last Ship to become cable's #1 new series launch for the year-to-date in Live + Same Day delivery. In key demos, The Librarians drew a total of 2.9 million adults 25-54 for the premiere and encore (2.1 million for the 8-10 p.m. premiere) and 2.3 million adults 18-49 (1.6 million for the premiere).

Last week's new episode and encore telecast of Major Crimes drew 6.9 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with 2.1 million adults in 25-54 and 1.5 million adults 18-49. So far, the season-to-date is averaging a reach of 8.1 million viewers per episode for its premiere telecasts, encores and multi-platform plays.

Transporter The Series averaged an initial audience of 1.8 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for Saturday night's new episode and encore. The show delivered double-digit increases across the board, including +45% among total viewers and +22% among adults 18-49. With additional DVR, replays and multiplatform viewing included, Transporter The Series is averaging a reach of 3.6 million viewers for the fall.

Friday night's season finale of On the Menu has so far garnered 780,000 viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for the premiere and encore (+4% vs. the prior week). Season-to-date, On the Menu is averaging a reach of 2.5 million viewers per episode across all plays and platforms.

Adult Swim

Across the first week of December 2014, Adult Swim ranked as the #1 basic cable network for Total Day Delivery among adults 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49, as well as men 18-24/18-34.

Adult Swim's original animated comedy series Black Dynamite (Saturday, 10:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among men 18-24, while improving average delivery among adults 18-24 and key male demos compared to the same time period last year. Sunday evening's new episode premiere of Bob's Burgers (9:30 p.m.) increased average delivery of all targeted adults and men, ranging between 3% and 47%.

Adult Swim programming - including Family Guy, American Dad and Robot Chicken - accounted for 20 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, and 25 of the top 50 with men 18-34, both more than any other network.

TBS

Last Monday's episode of TBS's American Dad! averaged 1.3 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with 949,000 adults in 18-49 and 550,000 adults 18-34. For the season-to-date, American Dad! is averaging a reach of 4 million viewers per episode for its premieres on TBS, encores on Adult Swim and multi-platform plays.

Friday night's new episode and encore telecasts of Deal With It drew a preliminary audience of 2.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery. The show garnered growth in key demos compared to the prior week, with 1.3 million adults 18-49 (+7%) and 535,000 adults 18-34 (+18%). Across all plays and platforms, Deal With It is averaging a reach of 2.6 million viewers per episode for the season-to-date.

The Big Bang Theory on TBS claimed 15 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and adults 18-49.

Cartoon Network

For the first week of December 2014, Cartoon Network ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Early Prime Delivery (6-8 p.m.) among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, and #1 in Total Day Delivery among boys 6-11 & 9-14. Compared to the same time period last year, Total Day Delivery grew among kids 2-11 by 11%, kids 6-11 by 14%, and kids 9-14 by 6%. Early Prime Delivery also grew among kids 2-11 by 7% and among kids 6-11 by 1%.

Cartoon Network dominated all television networks among targeted kids and boys on Thursday Night (6-8 p.m.), with its performance increasing delivery among all kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14, ranging between 49% and 90%. The new episode premiere of original series Teen Titans Go! (6 p.m.) ranked #1 for the day among kids and boys 2-11/6-11, while original series Regular Show (7:30 p.m.) won the day among kids/boys 9-14. All Thursday new episode premieres (6-8 p.m.) ranked #1 in their respective time periods on basic cable kids 6-11/9-14 and all key boys, and grew average delivery by double and triple digits among all demos vs. the same time period last year, ranging between 22% and 124%.

Cartoon Network was the #1 television destination vs. all TV networks among kids 2-11/6-11 and all targeted boy demos on Monday Night, and #1 among all targeted boys on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Night.

Saturday Morning programming (7-11 a.m.) earned year-over-year delivery gains among kids 2-11/6-11 and boys 6-11. Sonic Boom (7 a.m.) and Pokémon the Series XY (8 a.m.) new episode premieres ranked #1 in their respective time periods among boys 9-14. Sonic Boom also won its time period among boys 6-11. Premieres of both series grew average delivery across all targeted demos vs. the same time period last year, ranging from 1% to 52%.

NBA TV

NBA TV continues to deliver viewership increases for its original programming including double-digit gains for last week's premiere episodes of NBA Inside Stuff and The Starters. Saturday's initial airing of NBA Inside Stuff (Dec. 6) was +19% in total viewers over the comparable telecast last year. Additionally, The Starters generated a 96% increase in total viewers for its five premiere episodes when compared with the corresponding week in 2013. The show also registered a +71% improvement among adults 18-49, +79% in men 18-49 and +90% in men 18-34. Since the start of the season, NBA TV's total day viewership is up 10% through Sunday, Dec. 7.
