ABC's 500 Questions Opens Solidly Against Survivor's Finale - ABC Wins the May Sweep by 31% in AD18-49

ABC Wednesday Prime (8-11pm - 4.9 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49): Opposite the season finale of CBS' Survivor on the final night of the season, ABC took second in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5), beating drama finales on NBC (1.3/5) and Fox with the 2-hour premiere of MasterChef (1.2/4). ABC's Modern Family season finale was the night's #1 series in Adults 18-49 (tying the Survivor finale). Please Note: Modern Family's year-ago finale aired out of the high-rated 1-hour season finale of The Middle (7.6 million and 2.0/7 on 5/21/14).

· 2015 May Sweep Update (28 Nights Complete): ABC won the 2015 May Sweep in Adults 18-49 by 31% over its nearest competition (1.7/6 vs. 1.3/4 - CBS), marking its first back-to-back victories during the month in more than 23 years - since at least 1991, the start of Nielsen's electronic database.

500 Questions (8-9pm - 5.0 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49): Opening at 8pm against CBS' Survivor finale, ABC's debut of 500 Questions took second in the hour, outdrawing Fox's season premiere of MasterChef by 1.7 million viewers (5.0 million vs. 3.3 million) and matching the veteran Fox unscripted series in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5). In addition, the new ABC quiz show beat the season finale of NBC's just-renewed The Mysteries of Laura by 9% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5 vs. 1.1/4). Please Note: ABC's 500 Questions will air consecutively over the course of 7 nights (excluding weekend repeats).

Modern Family (9-9:30pm - 7.1 million and 2.2/8 in AD18-49): Nearly doubling its Adult 18-49 lead-in at 9pm (+83%), ABC's season finale of Modern Family tied the Survivor finale for the night's lead among Adults 18-49 (2.2/8), ranking as Wednesday's #1 TV series on each of its final 7 originals this season. On average for the season, Modern Family finished up in Total Viewers (12.1 million vs. 11.8 million) and held steady in Adults 18-49 (4.4/13 vs. 4.5/13).

black-ish (9:30-10pm - 5.4 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49): In the 9:30pm slot, ABC's black-ish took second to the Survivor finale in Adults 18-49, beating out the second half hour of NBC's L&O: SVU Finale (1.6/5 vs. 1.5/5). On average during its freshman season run, black-ish improved its half-hour ABC by 3.0 million viewers (8.6 million vs. 5.6 million) and by 43% in Adults 18-49 (3.0/9 vs. 2.1/6). black-ish closed out as the 2014-15 season's #1 new comedy in Adults 18-49.

Celebrity Wife Swap (10-11pm - 3.3 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): During the 10pm hour opposite the conclusion of Survivor leading into its Reunion Special, ABC's season opener of Celebrity Wife Swap (3.1 million and 1.0/3) was up over its year-ago premiere (3.2 million and 1.0/3 on 4/15/14) in Total Viewers (+6%) and was steady in Adults 18-49. In addition, Celebrity Wife Swap improved its hour by 25% in Adults 18-49 from the same night last year with original programming (0.8/2 on 5/21/14).
