PORTIA DE ROSSI, ERIC MCCORMACK AND JAMES SPADER CONFIRMED AS PRESENTERS FOR THE 56TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS ON ABC

Awards Broadcast Live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium September 19

Portia de Rossi, Eric McCormack and James Spader have been confirmed as presenters for the "56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards." The show will broadcast live from Los Angeles' historic Shrine Auditorium, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET, Live / tape delayed in PT) on ABC.

Portia de Rossi can currently be seen in the Emmy nominated FOX comedy, "Arrested Development." Other television credits include "Ally McBeal" and "America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story," in which she portrayed Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. De Rossi has also had a very successful film career with starring roles in "Scream 2," "Stigmata," "A Breed Apart," "The Invisible" and in the upcoming Wes Craven film, "Cursed," alongside Christina Ricci and Skeet Ulrich.

Eric McCormack won an Emmy Award in 2001 and has been nominated an additional two times for his portrayal of Will Truman on NBC's "Will & Grace." His other credits include several made-for-television movies -- his most memorable role in these was Col. Clay Mosby on "Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years" -- and feature films that include "Holy Man," "Free Enterprise," "Here's to Life" and the upcoming independent film, "The Sisters." Next summer McCormack will direct and star in his own script for Disney entitled "What You Wish For," which he developed with his wife of six years, Janet Holden.

James Spader has earned his first Emmy nomination for his portrayal of Alan Shore on ABC's "The Practice." He will reprise his role this fall to headline David E. Kelley's new drama, "Boston Legal." Before making his move to series television, Spader made a name for himself on the big screen with roles in such critically acclaimed films as "Secretary," "Speaking of Sex," "Supernova," "Slow Burn," "Critical Care," "Crash" and "Sex, Lies and Videotape."

Don Mischer is executive producer of the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which are presented by the Academy of Television Art & Sciences.
