MARTIN SHORT GUEST-STARS ON NBC'S "LAW & ORDER: SVU" TUESDAY, MARCH 8, AT 10PM ET/PT

NEW YORK - March 3, 2005 - Emmy Award winner Martin Short ("Father of the Bride") guest-stars as a devious and deceitful psychic Sebastian Ballentine, who claims he holds the clues to find to find a missing girl on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," on Tuesday, March 8, at 10 pm ET/PT.

In this episode, a mother's worst nightmare becomes a grim reality when she reports her 18-year-old daughter Kaley Sellers (guest-star Molly Bea Spears) missing. Detectives Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) investigate the disappearance and Sebastian Ballentine (Short) offers his psychic services, claiming he knows Sellers' whereabouts. As the case unfolds, we find that Ballentine has much more to offer than just the location of the missing girl. Dann Florek, Richard Belzer, Ice-T, Diane Neal, and B.D. Wong also star.

Short began his career on Canada's "SCTV Comedy Network," where his work garnered an Emmy Award. Short's proven ability as a comedic chameleon and his host of hilarious impressions brought him to the attention of "Saturday Night Live." With the tremendous exposure he gained on "Saturday Night Live," he was on the Hollywood fast track and quickly crossed over into feature film work.

Short made his screen debut in "Three Amigos." Other credits include "Inner Space", "Mars Attacks," "Jungle to Jungle," "The Big Picture," "Father of the Bride" and "Father of the Bride II" Among others. This May, short will star in "Jiminy Glick in LA LA Wood," which he also wrote.

Short has written, produced and starred in highly acclaimed specials for television such as NBC's "Martin Short's Concert for the North Americas," "I Martin Short, Goes Hollywood," and "The Show Formerly Known As The Martin Short Show." Short's work in television also includes his co-starring, Emmy-nominated role in the NBC mini-series "Merlin," and NBC'S "Alice in Wonderland." A veteran of the theater in Canada and on Broadway, some of Short's theater credits include "The Goodbye Girl," "Little Me," "Four Dogs and a Bone " and "The Producers."
