Development Update: April 22
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our newly revamped "Series in Development" charts. Visitors can now filter our listings by network, genre and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

ADDICTED.COM (Lifetime, New!) - Kelly Lynch ("Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story"), Jeremy Sumpter ("Clubhouse") and Lyndsy Fonseca ("I Do, They Don't") are all set to star in a new original movie for the cable channel. The project, from WTTV in association with Jaffe/Braunstein Films, revolves around a popular suburban high school sophomore (Sumpter) whose addiction to Internet porn wreaks havoc in his life and begins to tear his family apart. Lynch will play the boy's mother with Fonseca as his girlfriend. Tom McLoughlin is directing from a script by Wesley Bishop and Richard Kletter with Simon Wright, Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe, Mike Bremer and Paul Goff all serving as executive producers. No air date however has been set.

THE ANDY MILONAKIS SHOW (MTV, New!) - Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison's Jackhole Industries has scored a 10-episode order for a new comedy series starring comedian Andy Milonakis. The project, which will debut on Sunday, June 26 as part of MTV's latest "Sunday Stew" lineup, revolves around the off-kilter young comedian's activities (which include creating absurd short films of himself and his surroundings) after being trapped in his apartment on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Milonakis has appeared on Kimmel's late-night ABC talk show several times, where he gained a following thanks to his "Super Bowl Is Gay" sketch.

BLIND JUSTICE (ABC) - The Alphabet has quietly confirmed the freshman drama will finish airing its remaining installments this season following the May sweeps period. Only 11 of the 13 produced episodes will have aired during the regular 2004-05 season (9/20/04-5/25/05). The first of the two unaired episodes, "Under the Gun," is set to air on Tuesday, May 31 at 10:00/9:00c. Here's how the network's press materials describe the episode: "Dunbar's gun is stolen and he suspects it may have been used in a murder, and a high school boy with connections to drug dealers is shot dead, on "Blind Justice," TUESDAY, MAY 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network."

FOUR KINGS (NBC) - Shane McRae ("One Life to Live") has been revealed to be the fourth "king" in the comedy pilot, about four friends since childhood living in New York. He's playing Bobby in the Warner Bros. Television-based project, who's described in the casting notice as: "Mid 20's. A mellow musician, kinda sexy, kinda grungy. He's not quite beautiful enough to be an Abercrombie & Fitch model, but is beautiful enough to be an Abercrombie & Fitch cashier. Though he was born just outside of New York City, he comes off more like a guy that grew up in Malibu, but without the surfer accent. Bobby is not dumb, but there is a very good chance he doesn't know who the Secretary of State is." In addition, Todd Grinnell's role has been confirmed to be that of Jason: "Mid 20's. A stylish, opinionated, vain, weight-obsessed whirlwind of metrosexual energy. This guy is totally put together. The body, the hair, the look. You would never know by looking at him that he was the fat kid on the playground. He's convinced he knows the "right" way to conduct your life, even better than you do. Though his concerns seem shallow, he cares deeply about the people in his life." Josh Cooke (as Ben), Seth Green (as Barry) and Kiele Sanchez (as Jenny) also star in the pilot, which comes from executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan.

SCORE (MTV, New!) - Joe Simpson, father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, has booked a 20-episode order from the cable channel for a new reality series in which two aspiring musicians attempt to win a potential date over by writing and performing an original song. Singer Ryan Cabrera has been tapped to host the series, as well as work with contestants on writing, arranging and performing the songs. It's also understood both songs will be made available for download after each episode airs on MTV's web ste. Casting on the series is set to start this summer for a fall premiere on the cable channel. Rob Lundgren and Yann DeBonne are executive producing "Score," with Simpson serving as a co-executive producer and Jessica Samet, Mikey Ireland and Beth Greenwald producing for MTV.
