The WB Thursday Achieves Its Best-Ever Performance In Men 18-34 And Men 18-49 For Second Consecutive Week

Powerful �Gilmore Girls� Tops All Competitors With #1 Finish In Persons 12-34 And Women 12-34, And Strong #2 Finish In Adults 18-34 And Women 18-34

The WB Network completed the past week gaining a large margin of victory over UPN in the first week since both networks rolled out their entire fall schedules.

On Monday to Fridays when the two networks go head-to-head with 10 hours of programming each, The WB won in every major demo, plus total viewers. The WB achieved a victory by 27% in adults 18-34 (1.9/6), +25% in women 18-34 (2.5/7) and +30% in men 18-34 (1.3/4) and +23% in total viewers (4.1 million). The WB also held similar advantages in all 12-34 and 18-49 demos.

Even adding in Sundays, which gives The WB a three-hour programming advantage, The WB led UPN for the week in all 18-34, 12-34 and 18-49 demos, plus total viewers, including +13% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), +10% in women 18-34 (2.2/6), +20% in men 18-34(1.2/4) and +16% in total viewers (3.8 million).

Three outstanding performers for The WB were returning hits GILMORE GIRLS, which was the #14 show on television among women 12-34 (4.3/13), SMALLVILLE, which ranked #17 for the week in men 18-34 (3.0/11) and 7TH HEAVEN, the longest-running family drama in television history, which was #20 among women 12-34 (3.6/10).

THURSDAY STRATEGY CONTINUES TO PAY DIVIDENDS

Leading the way for the The WB, was its re-vamped Thursday lineup, which built on its outstanding opening performance the previous week again achieving THE NETWORK'S ALL-TIME BEST-EVER THURSDAY RATINGS among men 18-34 (2.5/8) and men 18-49 (2.2/6) and its highest ratings in adults 18-49 (2.2/6) since October 2001. Among adults 18-34 (2.4/7), persons 12-34 (2.2/7) and women 18-49 (2.1/5), The WB achieved its best Thursday ratings since January 2003.

EVERWOOD achieved tremendous year-to-year gains compared to the parallel week last year in all key demos, including +240% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), +240% in adults 18-49 (1.7/4) and +220% in persons 12-34 (1.6/5) as well as +239% in total viewers (4 million). Impressively, EVERWOOD, which was #3 in its time period among women 18-34 and women 12-34, showed greater gains in male demos (+250% in men 18-34), despite going up against a baseball playoff game on Fox.

EVERWOOD also established itself as a winner on Thursday compared to its first outing this season with +31% gains among adults 18-34 and adults 18-49 as well as +23% in persons 12-34 and +15% in total viewers.

SMALLVILLE, in its second week on Thursday, again established itself as a major player on the night. SMALLVILLE WON ITS TIME PERIOD, RANKING #1 in men 18-34 and was #2, defeating �Joey� and �Will and Grace� on NBC, �Alias� on ABC, �Everybody Hates Chris� on UPN and baseball on Fox, in adults 18-34 (3.0/10), persons 12-34 (2.8/9) and men 12-34 (3.0/11) and was #3 in women 18-34 (2.6/8) and women 12-34 (2.6/8). SMALLVILLE improved its time period over the parallel week last season in all 18-34, 18-49 and 12-34 demos, including +131% in adults 18-34, +86% in adults 18-49 and +115% in persons 12-34, as well as +87% in total viewers (5.9 million).

For the night, the record-breaking WB lineup, was #3 across all 18-34 and 12-34 demos from 8-10 p.m. and built over the parallel week in all 18-34, 18-49 and 12-34 demos, including +167% in adults 18-34 (2.4/7), +144% in adults 18-49 (2.2/6) and persons 12-34 (2.2/7) as well as +129% in total viewers (4.9 million).

RELATED A BIG WINNER FOR THE WB

Another outstanding performer for The WB was RELATED, which achieved year-to-year gains for its time period in nine key demos and total viewers, including +25% in adults 18-34 (1.5/4), +69% in women 18-34 (2.2/6), +36% in persons 12-34 (1.5/4), +83% in women 12-34 (2.2/6) and +33% in total viewers (2.8 million).

RELATED defeated �Veronica Mars� in nine key demos and total viewers, including by six-tenths of a ratings point in women 18-34 and by nearly half a ratings point in women 12-34.

The WB defeated NBC and CBS from 8-10 p.m. among persons 12-34 and women 12-34 and topped NBC in women 18-34 from 8-10 p.m.

THE WB TUESDAY SCARES UP GROWTH

The WB's powerhouse Tuesday night lineup continued to attract strong viewership, with week four growth of freshman hit SUPERNATURAL taking the show to season-best ratings in a number of key demographics, while GILMORE GIRLS again beat all competition in a number of key demographics, leading the network to strong second place finishes for the night in persons 12-34, women 18-34 and women 12-34.

SUPERNATURAL and its creepy �Phantom Traveler� episode matched its season-high ratings in persons 12-34 (2.5/7), women 12-34 (3.0/8) and men 12-34 (2.1/6), and achieved new series highs in teens 12-17 (2.7/9) and male teens (2.1/7). The show also built over the prior week in several key demos, including a gain of +8% in total viewers (5.4 million), +11% in persons 12-34, + 4% in persons 12-34 and +9% in adults 18-49. �Supernatural� ranked #3 in its time period among men 12-34 (2.1/6), and led the time period in teens and female teens.

GILMORE GIRLS continued its stellar sixth season with another strong performance, ranking #1 in its time period in persons 12-34 (2.9/9), women 12-34 (4.3/13), teens 12-17 (3.0/11) and female teens (5.0/17), and finished a strong #2 in the hour among adults 18-34 (2.8/9) and women 18-34 (4.1/12). GILMORE GIRLS posted gains versus the prior week across a number of key demos, including of +12% in persons 12-34, +8% in women 12-34, +15% in men12-34, +4% in adults 18-34, +8% in adults 18-49 and +10% in total viewers (6.0 million) on its way to its best numbers this season since its premiere.
