UPN�s New Scripted Lineup Ranks Fourth In Adults 18-34 For The Night, Putting The Network In The Same Competitive Position That SMACKDOWN Averaged Last Season

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, UPN�s critically acclaimed hit comedy, continues to reap huge rewards for the Network on Thursday, placing ahead of both FOX and ABC in adults 18-34, while equaling ABC�s �Alias� in adults 18-49 in the 8:00-8:30 time period, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings for Oct. 20.

EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS posted impressive year-to-year time period gains in total viewers (5.4 million, +23%), adults 18-49 (2.1/6, +31%), adults 18-34 (2.0/7, +25%), women 18-34 (2.5/8, +79%) and women 18-49 (2.6/7, +100%).

Versus tough Thursday night competition, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS ranked third in women 18-34 and women 18-49.

Compared to the first five weeks of the 2004-05 broadcast season, EHC is improving the 8:00-8:30PM time period by +67% in adults 18-49, +71% in adults 18-34, +164% in women 18-34 and +173% in women 18-49.

From 8-10PM, UPN placed fourth in adults 18-34 (1.4/4), putting it in the same competitive position with its new scripted lineup that UPN averaged with WWE SMACKDOWN! on Thursdays last season. UPN also placed fourth for the night in women 18-34 (1.9/5) ahead of FOX and ABC.

Based on Local People Meter data, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS ranked first in its time period in several key markets. In adults 18-34, CHRIS was first in Chicago (4.0/14) and Washington, DC (3.5/12) and second in Philadelphia (3.7/12, behind �Survivor�). In adults 18-49, CHRIS was first in Chicago (4.2/13) and second in Philadelphia (3.8/10) and Washington, D.C. (3.0/9).
