CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ACTOR KELSEY GRAMMER RETURNS TO NBC IN A BONE-CHILLING GUEST-APPEARANCE ON 'MEDIUM'

BURBANK, Calif. -- May 1, 2006 -- Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer, who played the wildly popular character of Dr. Frasier Crane on NBC's "Frasier" for 11 years, returns to NBC in a surprisingly dark guest-appearance on the supernatural drama "Medium," episode "Death Takes a Policy" (Monday, May 8th at 10 PM ET/PT). Grammer, who plays "The Angel of Death" in this can't-miss episode, also serves as an Executive Producer on the show, currently in its second season.

"I am delighted to be working with the cast of 'Medium,' for whom I have the utmost respect and admiration," said Grammer. "It's nice to switch hats for a week and spend a little time in front of the lens."

"Virtually since the day we started working together on 'Medium,' Kelsey and I have been searching for an opportunity for him to join us as an actor," said the show's creator and executive producer, Glenn Gordon Caron. "The role of the 'Angel of Death' fits him like a glove as he effortlessly portrays all the menace and gravitas one would expect in such a regal character."

In this episode, filled with surprises and suspense, "The Angel of Death" (Grammer) starts appearing to Allison (Emmy-winner Patricia Arquette), during an investigation into the death of a local physician. Allison's visions, coupled with a sequence of nerve-rattling incidents, cause her to worry that she might be the next name on "Death's" list.

With his 20-year run as Dr. Frasier Crane, Grammer has tied James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the record of playing the same television character for the longest time. He won four Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes during his 11-year portrayal of the doctor on NBC's "Frasier," and had earlier given award-winning performances as the same character for nine years on NBC's "Cheers." In addition, Grammer has been nominated for 12 Emmys for this role in three different series ("Cheers," "Wings," and "Frasier").

Grammer's television credits include the NBC production of "A Christmas Carol," "Benedict Arnold" for A&E, "Mr. St. Nick" for ABC's Hallmark Hall of Fame, "Sportspages" for Showtime and Disney's animated movie "Teacher's Pet," in which he performed a voice-over. Additionally, he has a recurring voice-over role on "The Simpsons." His feature films include "Fifteen Minutes" for New Line Cinema as well as the highly anticipated third installment of the popular franchise "X-Men," which hits theatres this summer.

Grammer lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Camille, and their two children.

Jake Weber, Miguel Sandoval, David Cubitt, Sofia Vassilieva, Maria Lark and Madison and Miranda Carabello also star in "Medium."

"Medium" is produced by Picturemaker Productions, Inc. in association with CBS Paramount Network Television and Grammnet Productions.
