MTV Greenlights Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz

New Sketch Comedy Series Starring, Created And Executive-Produced By Nick Cannon Featuring Todays Hottest Comedy/Improv Players

Santa Monica, CA October 2, 2006: MTV: Music Television announced today that Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz the new sketch comedy series created, executive produced and starring Nick Cannon has been greenlit for eight episodes and will premiere in first quarter 2007 as part of the coveted 10 Spot line-up. The new series features Nick Cannon along with some of todays hottest comedy/improv players as they bring a fresh new blend of sketch comedy thats got it all; from topical sketches, to dead-on impersonations to parodies to whatever else they think of next!

"Nick pitched this show as a way to do for sketch comedy what Wild N Out did for Improv - infuse it with a hip hop vibe and Nick's own brand of edgy humor. It is a scripted companion piece to Wild N Out, providing an expanded platform for some of the great comedic talent from that show and a way to break new talent. Nick has his finger on the pulse of what's hot for our audience, and I'm looking forward to collaborating on another hit series with him" said Tony DiSanto, Executive Producer, MTV.

It is an honor that MTV and its executives have given me another opportunity to express my creativity, says Nick Cannon. They are the perfect partner to launch my new sketch comedy series and I look forward to continued success in creating fresh and entertaining content for the networks loyal audience.

The announcement follows the success of the hit improv sketch comedy show, Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out, which returned to MTV for a third season and is currently airing Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT. Nick Cannons latest original creation Short Circuitz features Nick including Affion Crockett, Eliza Coupe, Leonard Robinson, Taran Killam and the hilarious Katt Williams. Together these players will rock the comedy worldand Nick Cannon wouldnt have it any other way!

Nick Cannons rapid rise to success in film and television has had its monumental peaks, which include Nickelodeons award-winning The Nick Cannon Show, along with a breakout role in the 2002 movie Drumline. Since then, his well-rounded performances have further matured, establishing him as one of the most sought after entertainers in the industry. Named by People Magazine as one of the Top Ten Most Successful People in Young Hollywood, Cannon can currently be heard as the voice of one of the characters in the animated film, Monster House and looks forward to the release of the highly anticipated RFK biopic Bobby.

Tony DiSanto and Tony DiBari serve as MTVs Executive Producers for Short Circuitz, and Karen Frank serves as Co-Executive Producer. Liz Gateley is the Development Executive. Rod Aissa is the Senior Vice President of Talent Development. Michael Goldman also serves as Executive Producer. Nick Cannon is the creator and Executive Producer of Short Circuitz.
