BURBANK - August 23, 2007 -- NBC announced a rousing second-season kickoff for its critically acclaimed drama "Friday Night Lights" (Fridays, 9-10 p.m. ET) as the network, along with Houseparty.com, will send out jam-packed "Friday Night Lights" party kits to the show's most enthusiastic fans. On September 14 all across America, 1,000 lucky hosts will have the opportunity to entertain their friends and families with an exclusive first look at the second-season premiere for broadcast on Friday, October 5 (9-10 p.m. ET). The announcement was made today by John Miller, Chief Marketing Officer, NBC Universal Television Group.

"We thought this partnership with Houseparty.com would be a great way to reignite the excitement of the fan base for 'Friday Night Lights,'" said Miller. "With word of mouth advertising being so effective, we wanted to create a natural venue for that kind of experience in the comfort of people's homes."

NBC will use "Friday Night Lights" fan websites, NBC Affiliate Websites, NBC.com and the Houseparty.com database for the banner ads and e-mail blasts to promote the opportunity to host a party. Potential hosts will apply and meet specific criteria before they are chosen.

There will also be a dedicated "Friday Night Lights" House Party website on Houseparty.com and then each host will be given their own page to manage their get-together. NBC will send out party kits to all of the hosts. They will include but are not limited to: a sneak peek of the second-season premiere; a DVD to feature a custom introduction by "Friday Night Lights" stars Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler; episode 117 ("I Think We Should Have Sex)"; "Friday Night Lights" merchandise, including "can koozies," megaphones, stadium cushions, rally towels, stadium cups; a bonus DVD with the first four episodes of season one; and a sneak peek of the new NBC drama series "Bionic Woman."

Expanding on the hit feature film and best selling book "Friday Night Lights," the poignant series centers on the small rural town of Dillon, Texas, where the coveted state football championship rings are held in the highest regard. The Dillon Panther's faced many challenges their first season with Coach Eric Taylor (Chandler, "Grey's Anatomy") at the helm, but after much hard work, determination and a victory at the state championship game, the team's fate at the start of yet another new season and Taylor's family's future with them, continues to remain uncertain. The talented cast also includes: Scott Porter ("Music & Lyrics by...") as the Panther's injured former star quarterback, Jason Street; Gaius Charles ("The Book of Daniel") as feared running back Brian "Smash" Williams; Taylor Kitsch ("The Covenant") as reckless and self-destructive full back Tim Riggins; Britton ("The Brothers McMullen," "24") as Taylor's supportive wife and high school guidance counselor, Tami; Zach Gilford ("The Last Winter") as Matt Saracen, the new team captain and star quarterback, and Minka Kelly ("What I Like About You") as Lyla Garrity, Panther cheerleader and Street's on again off-again girlfriend.

Also starring are: Aimee Teegarden ("Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide") as Coach Taylor's daughter, Julie; Adrianne Palicki ("South Beach") as Tyra Collette, and Jesse Plemons ("Grey's Anatomy") as Landry Clarke.

The series is executive-produced by Peter Berg (the film "Friday Night Lights," "The Rundown"), who also wrote and directed the pilot, Jason Katims ("Roswell"), Brian Grazer ("The Da Vinci Code," "Cinderella Man," "A Beautiful Mind"), David Nevins ("Arrested Development"), Sarah Aubrey ("Bad Santa," "The Kingdom") and Jeffrey Reiner (NBC's "Surface"). "Friday Night Lights" is a production of Imagine Entertainment, Universal Media Studios and Film 44. About House Party, Inc.
