WE tv Expands Wedding Programming Slate With New Series and Specials

Wedding Related Programming Builds on Success of WE GO BRIDAL

New York, NY - January 28, 2008 - Building on the momentum of WE tv's increased programming dedicated to weddings, the network announced today a new slate of series and specials for the New Year. Series include Bulging Brides and Wedding Cake Masters and specials include Unforgettable Celebrity Wedding Gowns and Culture Clash Weddings. The new programming builds on the network's launch of WE GO Bridal, a multi-platform initiative which includes a weekly night of programming and WEgobridal.com, an online destination, both dedicated to all things bridal.

"WE tv's wedding programming has defined the television bridal genre and with these new offerings, the network continues to satisfy a huge consumer demand for niche bridal programming," said Kim Martin, EVP and GM of WE tv. "This new investment in original wedding related programming continues to position WE tv as the leader in providing a multi-platform destination for all things bridal."

Following is more information on WE tv's new original series:

Bulging Brides (13 eps; .5 hr)

Bulging Brides, premiering Sunday, February 17 at 10pm (ET/PT), is a fast-paced, action-packed acquired series that follows different bride-to-be's as they try to shed unwanted pounds and inches in order to fit into their gowns. Yet stress, hectic schedules and temptations from menu tastings and bridal showers can make it difficult, so co-hosts and weight loss experts are enlisted to help. Personal trainer Tommy Europe and nutrition specialist Nadeen Boman put the ladies through a strict and intense 6-week regimen. It's high-stakes for these brides - will they be able to reach their weight-loss goals or need to have their gowns re-fitted? Bulging Brides was acquired from Peace Arch Entertainment.

Wedding Cake Masters (6 eps; .5 hr)

Wedding Cake Masters is an original series, premiering in September 2008, that showcases high-design cakes made for the most extravagant weddings. The special delivers an insider's glimpse into the high-design and high-stress world of creating some of the most unique cakes ever imagined. The series is produced by Film Garden.

In addition to the series, WE tv will also premiere the following stand alone specials including:

Unforgettable Celebrity Wedding Gowns

This one-hour special premieres Monday, February 11 at 10pm (ET/PT) and features 16 famous wedding dresses that are as memorable as the celebrities who wore them. With a collection of experts commenting on the details that make each gown so unforgettable, all the dresses makes a statement, whether it's Gwen Stefani's pink-trimmed design or Carmen Electra's shockingly traditional gown. From Elizabeth Taylor to Avril Lavigne, it's not just the dresses that are unique but also the stories and relationships behind them. The special is produced by Kaos Entertainment.

Culture Clash Weddings

This one-hour special, premiering Wednesday, February 13th at 10pm, features a couple who agree to have a wedding in the style of a culture that is foreign to them. Through each couple the series showcases different cultures and religions and how each celebrates their special day. Family and friends are brought in to help them with the task of planning a wedding vastly different from their own culture. The families and bridal party all take part in executing one unforgettable, culture clash wedding.

This special is produced by Brand New Entertainment.

Launched in June 2007, WE GO Bridal is a multi-platform destination for weddings. The initiative has expanded beyond the success of WE tv's signature series, Bridezillas, which helped define the television bridal genre when it premiered in 2003, and marked an important new mandate for the cable network. The WE GO Bridal initiative has dramatically increased wedding content on the network's platforms, with a branded night each week for wedding programming, and an online destination, WEgobridal.com, dedicated to all things bridal.
