By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM (HBO) - Entertainment Weekly is reporting "Seinfeld" alums Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jason Alexander and Michael Richards are set to reunite with co-creator Larry David during the upcoming seventh season. Details on their multi-episode arc however were not released. Production on the new season is underway in Los Angeles.

THE GOOD WIFE (CBS) - Julianna Margulies ("Canterbury's Law") is set to topline the drama pilot, about a politician's wife (Margulies) who pursues her original career as a defense attorney. Her casting lifts said contingency off the pilot's production. Robert and Michelle King co-created the hour, which is being directed by Charles McDougall. CBS Paramount Network Television and Scott Free Productions are co-producing.

FRANK TV (TBS) - Broadcasting & Cable reports the cable channel has pulled the plug on the Frank Caliendo series, which wrapped its inaugural season in December. The series opened to 3.2 million viewers in November of 2007 with its initial five week run averaging 2.1 million viewers. Numbers for the show's 10 subsequent installments presumably fared even worse, hence the cancellation. It's not all bad news for Caliendo though - the "FOX NFL Sunday" mainstay has reupped his deal with the network for another two years.

HEROES (NBC) - In a Q&A with The Hollywood Reporter, the Peacock's Angela Bromstad confirmed the drama will return next season. She goes on to note they'll order about 18-20 episodes for the 2009-10 season. Separately, network sources have confirmed the show's current season will now wrap after 25 episodes, not 26 as previously indicated.

INSIDE THE BOX (ABC) - Indira Varma ("3 lbs.") has scored the lead role on the drama pilot, about a Washington network news bureau. She'll play Catherine, "an ambitious news producer, and her colleagues, who pursue the story at all costs, juggling personal animosities and crises of conscience along with the daily deadlines of a nightly news show." Richard E. Robbins is behind the ABC Studios-based hour, which comes from fellow executive producers Betsy Beers and Shonda Rhimes. Mark Tinker is directing.

MY NAME IS EARL (NBC) - Twentieth Television has cleared the show's off-network run - due this fall - in more than 80% country, including 34 of the top 35 markets. Among the latest clearances: stations in San Francisco (KTVU), Cleveland (WUAB/WOIO), Sacramento (KTXL), Pittsburgh (WPGH/WPMY), Charlotte (WCCB), Raleigh-Durham (WLFL/WRDC), Nashville (WZTV/WUXP), Columbus (WSYX/WTTE), Cincinnati (WSTR), Grand Rapids (WXMI) and Birmingham (WABM/WTTO).

UNTITLED FRANK MILITARY PROJECT (CBS) - David Giuntoli ("Privileged") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about a team of federal prosecutors in Manhattan. He's set as a wealthy young attorney who is a member of said team. CBS Paramount Network Television is behind the hour, which comes from creator Frank Military.

WASHINGTON FIELD (CBS) - Gina Torres ("Firefly") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, about an FBI squad made up of experts who travel the world responding to crises that concern U.S. national interests. She'll play team's coordinator and tactical pilot. Jon Cassar is helming the CBS Paramount Network Television-based hour from a script by co-creators Edward Allen Bernero, Jim Clemente and Tim Clemente.
