LAW & ORDER (NBC) - TNT has formally passed on a 21st season of the landmark NBC drama. "We are not in current talks, and we are not interested in a Season 21," the network said in a statement released to The Los Angeles Times. The cable channel had long been pegged as a potential savior of the franchise, which is currently tied with "Gunsmoke" as the longest running series in television history. NBC pulled the plug earlier this month.
THAT GIRL (MTV) - Brett Davern ("Cold Case") and Beau Mirchoff ("Desperate Housewives") have both joined the cast of the pilot, about "a wallflower high school sophomore who gets more attention than she'd like when an accident convinces the school she tried to commit suicide." The latter will play Matty, the all-American school heartthrob, with Davern as Jackson, Matty's wing man. Lauren Iungerich is behind the project, to be helmed by Millicent Shelton.
TOO FAT FOR 15: FIGHTING BACK (Style, New!) - The cable channel has greenlit a new reality series about "four extremely overweight teens and one preteen whose parents bring them to Wellspring Academy, a weight-loss boarding school in North Carolina." Daisybeck Productions and Passion Distribution are behind the project, which is set to roll out in August. No other specifics were given.
