THE COMEDIANS (FX, New!) - The proposed Billy Crystal-led comedy - about a superstar veteran comedian who is reluctantly paired with a younger, edgier comedian for a late-night comedy sketch show - has found a home at the cable channel, which it has received a pilot order. Crystal also penned the half-hour alongside Matt Nix ("Burn Notice"), Ben Wexler ("The Good Guys") and Larry Charles ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), the latter of which will direct. Said effort, based on the 2004 Swedish series "Ulveson and Herngren," is set up at Fox Television Studios. Fabrik Entertainment's Mikkel Bondesen and Henrik Bastin and Efti AB's Carl Molinder and John Nordling will executive produce alongside the aforementioned quartet with Kristen Campo serving as a co-executive producer. QUARRY (Cinemax; W: Graham Gordy & Michael D. Fuller; D: John Hillcoat) - Logan Marshall-Green ("Dark Blue") has been tapped for the title role on the drama pilot, "set in the 1970s and centers on a Marine sniper (Marshall-Green) who, upon his return home from Vietnam in 1973, finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. Combat-hardened and disillusioned, he's recruited into a network of contract killers and corruption spanning the length of the Mississippi River." John Hillcoat is set to direct the pilot, which is based on the series of novels by Max Allan Collins. Hillcoat, Gordy, Fuller, Collins and Ken Levin are executive produce with Anonymous Content's Steve Golin, David Kanter, Matt DeRoss and Keith Redmon. (Deadline.com)
