CURSE OF THE FUENTES WOMEN, THE (NBC, New!) - Silvio Horta ("Ugly Betty") has set up a new drama at the Peacock about "a young man who washes up on Miami Beach claiming to be a long-lost family member from Cuba, breathing new energy into the lives of grandmother Esperanza Fuentes, daughter Lola and granddaughter Soledad." He'll write and executive produce the project, which has a penalty attached, via his Silent H Productions for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)


GAME OF SILENCE (NBC, New!) - David Hudgins ("Parenthood") has scored a pilot production commitment - with a series penalty attached - from the Peacock for a new drama about "a rising attorney on the brink of spectacular success who could lose his perfect life when his long-lost childhood friends threaten to expose a dark secret from their violent past." The Sony Pictures Television-based project is based on the Turkish series of the same name. Carol Mendelsohn, Julie Weitz, Timur Savci and Tariq Jalil are also executive producing via their respective companies, Carol Mendelsohn Productions, TIMS Productions and Intrigue Entertainment. MR. ROBOT (USA/UCP; W: Sam Esmail; D: Niels Arden Oplev) - Rami Malek ("The Pacific") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about a young programmer, Elliot, who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides that he can only connect to people by hacking them. He wields his skills as a weapon to protect the people that he cares about. Elliot will find himself in the intersection between a cybersecurity firm he works for and the underworld organizations that are recruiting him to bring down corporate America. Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)


THINGS THEY LEFT BEHIND, THE (CBS, New!) - Seth Grahame-Smith ("The Hard Times of RJ Berger") has received a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama about "an unlikely pair of investigators carrying out the unfinished business of the dead." Said effort, based on Stephen King's short story of the same name, is set up at Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions with the company's Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter executive producing alongside Grahame-Smith and his KatzSmith producing partner David Katzenberg. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED LARRY KAPLOW PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Larry Kaplow ("House") has booked a script commitment at the Eye for a new drama about "an enigmatic surgeon who imprisons himself in a state-of-the-art private hospital on the grounds of a prison." Katie Jacobs, Halle Berry and Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas are also on board to executive produce for CBS Television Studios and 606 Films. (Deadline.com)
