ALMOST THERE (DirecTV, New!) - Steven Pasquale ("The Good Wife") is set to star in a new 10-episode single-camera comedy on DirecTV's Audience Network, about Jackson Cooper, "a handsome, eternally single psychiatrist living in New York City. Serial dating and workaholic behavior have successfully helped him avoid long-term commitments, until he meets the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately he fails to get her name, number or any other information. The series follows Jackson on his quest to find her and to finally go about the task of finding himself along the way." Christopher Fitzgerald, Susan Kelechi Watson, Maddie Corman, Trieste Kelly Dunn, James McDaniel, Terry Kinney and Jane Alexander are also featured on the series, from co-creators Jace Alexander, Kim Cella and Debbie Baldwin. Pasquale and Jonathan Burkhart will likewise executive produce for Out of Time Productions. (Deadline.com)

SHADES OF BLUE (NBC/Universal; W: Adi Hasak; D: Barry Levinson) - Santino Fontana is the latest to be cast in the Jennifer Lopez-led drama, about a tight-knit crew of police officers who are effective at keeping the streets safe but also corrupt when it comes to lining their pockets and protecting their own. When one of the officers, Harlee Santos (Lopez), is forced to become a federal informant, she must decide between her own family's welfare and that of her police family. He'll play Stuart Saperstein, "a tough cop with a lion's heart who is fiercely loyal to both his crew and his mother, with whom he still lives." Drea de Matteo, Gino Anthony Pesi, Hampton Fluker, Ray Liotta, Sarah Jeffery, Vincent Laresca and Warren Kole also star. (Deadline.com)

UNDERGROUND (WGN America/Sony; W: Joe Pokaski & Misha Green; D: Anthony Hemingway) - Amirah Vann has booked a role on period drama, set in the pre-Civil War South and following the slaves who set foot on the fabled Underground Railroad, the secret network of men and women who risked their lives aiding them, and the mercenaries tasked with hunting them down at any cost. He's set as Ernestine, the head house slave, who is an expert in navigating the upstairs/downstairs life on the plantation but will find her status challenged when those close to her run." Alano Miller, Christopher Meloni, Devon Gummersall, Johnny Ray Gill, Mykelti Williamson, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Reed Diamond, Aldis Hodge and Jessica De Gouw also star. (Deadline.com)

WRIGHT BROTHERS, THE (HBO, New!) - Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman's Playtone banner is developing a new mini-series at the pay channel which "tells the story of Wilbur and Orville Wright, who sold and repaired bicycles out of an Ohio shop to pay for their passion: the invention of flying machines that ushered in the aeronautical age right after the turn of the 20th Century. In 1903 on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the brothers changed history by successfully flying the first heavier-than-air-powered machine that carried a pilot." Said effort will be based on David McCullough's book of the same name. (Deadline.com)
