DREAM TEAM (ABC/WBT; W: Bill Wrubel & Kari Lizer; D: TBA) - The single-camera comedy - about Marty Schumacher, who coached his last Club soccer team for ten years, ultimately taking them to the National Championships; he now has to start from scratch with a diverse group of eight-year-olds, and their disparate parents - is the latest to score a pilot order from the Alphabet. INFAMOUS, THE (A&E/A+E; W: Joshua Zetumer; D: Rupert Wyatt) - Bokeem Woodbine ("Fargo") has signed onto the long-in-the-works pilot, a drama set against real events in turbulent 1990s Los Angeles leading up to the LA Riots, and centers on two complicated men on a collision course: an ambitious reformed gangster poised to break out of South Central and the LAPD detective hell-bent on taking him down. He'll play Shannon, "a former gang member turned successful hip-hop producer who is poised to break out of South Central but becomes the target of an LAPD detective." (THR.com)


SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS, A (Netflix/Paramount; W: TBA; D: Brad Silberling) - Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes have been cast as Violet and Klaus in the streaming service's adaptation of Daniel Handler's book, which recounts the tale of the orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes, and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents' death. ZOOBIQUITY (FOX/20th; W: Jonathan Collier & Stephen Nathan; D: TBA) - The drama, based on the book of the same name by Dr. Barbara Natterson-Horowitz and Kathryn Bowers, is heading to pilot at the network. Said effort is billed as a light, unconventional medical procedural follows the unlikely pairing of a successful, driven cardiologist as she risks career suicide by teaming with a socially-challenged veterinarian who relates better to animals than people. They try to put aside their competitive natures to cure the incurable using a unique blend of cross-species medicine that's never been tried before. Spencer Medof also serves as an executive producer with Natterson-Horowitz and Kathryn Bowers producing.


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Shawn Levy has signed on to direct ABC's comedy pilot "Imaginary Friend" (THR.com); Mark Harris and David Shumsky's Ohana Pictures has inked an overall deal with Lionsgate Television (Deadline.com); Alexie Gilmore will recur on TV Land's "Lopez" as the title character's love interest (Deadline.com); Eliza Harmon has been cast as Eliza Harmon, Central City's first female speedster, on "The Flash" (TVLine.com); and Taylor Cole has scored an arc on "The Originals" as "a smart, badass vampire whose skills are highly sought after on the black market" (TVLine.com).
