(NBC, New!) - Vanessa McCarthy has booked a potential comedy at the Peacock about "a single man in his 30's who makes the calculated decision to start a family and have a baby via surrogacy. With loads of opinions and judgment from his friends and family, only one young woman - with her unique entrepreneurial goals and financial needs - would be the perfect match for this man and his approach to having a child." Hazy Mills Productions' Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner and Will Packer Media's Will Packer and Sheila Ducksworth will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
MANIFEST (NBC) - Matt Long is bound for the freshman drama in the recurring role of Zeke, "a mysterious new character whose arrival triggers a new relationship triangle and upends the series' mythology." (Deadline.com)
PULLER (FOX, New!) - Carla Kettner is looking to bring David Baldacci's bestselling John Puller book series, about "an investigator with the Army's Criminal Investigation Division," to the small screen. "Puller, a decorated former Army Ranger, faces the most difficult case of his life when his brother, a convicted traitor, escapes from a maximum security prison. Together with Veronica Knox, an army intel specialist, Puller searches for his fugitive brother." The network has given a script commitment plus a penalty to the Sony Pictures Television-based project with Osprey Productions' Josh Berman, Chris King and Karen Spiegel; and Flying Studio's Gary Oldman and Douglas Urbanski executive producing alongside Kettner and Baldacci. (Deadline.com)
UNDOING, THE (HBO) - Hugh Grant has been cast opposite Nicole Kidman in the limited series as Jonathan Sachs, "an acclaimed pediatric oncologist, devoted husband to Grace Sachs (Kidman) and doting father, whose past undergoes scrutiny when he suddenly disappears, leading to a chain of terrible revelations." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED WELLRED PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Comedian Trae Crowder is back in business with the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy about "three best friends in the rural south and the women in their lives." He'll star in and co-write the project alongside Andrew Reich, Corey Forrester and Drew Morgan. The District's Ruben Flerischer and David Bernad will also executive produce for ABC Studios. Crowder was behind a different project at the network last year, which in turn was redeveloped from its original sale to FOX in 2016. (Deadline.com)
VERONICA MARS (Hulu) - J.K. Simmons is the latest bound for the revival series as Clyde Prickett, "an ex-con who served 10 years for racketeering, and was smart enough to be the first guy in Chino to offer protection to Neptune's richest real estate developer, Big Dick Casablancas, on Big Dick's first day in prison. Now a free man, Clyde works as Big Dick's fixer. He's the smarter and more dangerous of the pair, and he has a network of fellow ex-cons he can count on to keep his own hands clean."
