50 STATES OF FEAR (Quibi) - Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber has been tapped to write and direct one of the segments for Sam Raimi's upcoming series. (Deadline.com)
ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE (Netflix, New!) - Anthony Doerr's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is being eyed as a limited series at the streaming service. The project "tells the story of Marie-Laure, a blind French teenager, and Werner, a German soldier, whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II." Dan Levine, Shawn Levy and Josh Barry are the executive producers for 21 Laps Entertainment. No writer was indicated. (Deadline.com)
BLUFF CITY LAW (NBC) - Jayne Atkinson has signed onto the legal drama pilot as Della Bedford, "a warm-hearted but incredibly shrewd and wise lawyer in Elijah's (Jimmy Smits) firm." (Deadline.com)
CAT'S CRADLE (FX) - Noah Hawley's long-in-the-works TV adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's novel is on track as a seven- or eight-hour limited series. First announced in November 2015, the project is expected to begin filming in 2020. (Deadline.com)
FLASH, THE (The CW) - Todd Helbing will step down as showrunner following the current fifth season to focus on development. Eric Wallace, who currently serves as a co-executive producer, will subsequently be promoted to showrunner. (THR.com)
GENIUSES (FOX) - Tisha Campbell-Martin and director Jonathan Judge have both signed onto the comedy pilot, about Cay (Maggie Lawson) and Mike (Jason Biggs), a blue-collar couple in South Jersey trying to get by while raising four kids, three of whom just happen to be certified geniuses. Campbell-Martin plays Rita, "a mother of three and a casino pit boss. She's Cay's (Lawson) closest friend at work." (Deadline.com)
GODS & HEROES (Netflix, New!) - The streaming service has ordered eight episodes of a new anime series from Powerhouse Animation set in the world of Greek mythology. Jason O'Mara, Mamie Gummer, Chris Diamantopoulos, Derek Phillips, Jessica Henwick, Melina Kanakaredes, Claudia Christian and Elias Toufexis are set to voice the project, from Charley and Vlas Parlapanides. INTO THE DARK (Hulu) - Clayne Crawford has been cast in the franchise's June installment, "They Come Knocking," about "a recent widower who takes his two daughters on a road trip where he finds his family in the crosshairs of terrifying supernatural entities." Josephine Langsford, Robyn Lively, Lia McHugh and Dwight Hicks also star. (TVLine.com)
NEW YORK UNDERCOVER (ABC) - MC Lyte, Otmara Marrero, Toby Sandeman, Anna Enger and Octavio Pizano are all bound for the sequel series drama pilot. Lyte will play Lt. April Freeman, "a hard-driving boss with a genius IQ"; with Marrero as Melissa Ortiz, "a fiery young detective who blends well undercover"; Sandeman as Nat Gilmore, "charismatic with an easy smile and a quick fuse"; Enger as Lisa Kim, "an ambitious climber"; and Pizano as Moses Hernandez, "an eager beaver with a hero complex." ORPHAN BLACK (BBC America) - Sibling AMC and original producer Temple St. Productions are reportedly in early development on a new series set in the Orphan Black universe. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
PASTORIZED (ABC) - Hailey Kilgore has been cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot, about a couple (Kelly Jenrette, Leslie Odom, Jr.) who together run a modern ministry and share an even more eclectic and chaotic home life with a combined four children, as Lisa, "Omari's biological daughter." PERFECT HARMONY (NBC) - Geno Segers and Rizwan Manji are the latest bound for the Bradley Whitford-led comedy pilot as Shep Rollins ("Rugged and strong, he is the youngest of six enormous brothers.") and Reverand Jax ("He was not born in the U.S. but has a lifelong love affair with American pop culture."), respectively. POISONWOOD BIBLE (HBO, New!) - Barbara Kingsolver's novel is being developed as a limited series at the pay channel. The project "follows Orleanna Price, the wife of an evangelical missionary who takes her and their four daughters to the Belgian Congo in the midst of colonial upheaval in 1959." Kingsolver and Anya Epstein are co-writing the small screen take with Amy Adams and Stacy O'Neil likewise executive producing. The latter's newly launched Bond Group Entertainment recently signed a first-look deal with HBO. (Deadline.com)
PRODIGAL SON (FOX) - Tom Payne has been tapped as the new lead on the drama pilot, about a twisted genius who helps the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother (Bellamy Young), annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father (Michael Sheen) still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses. He succeeds Finn Jones, who was replaced following the pilot's table read this week. (Deadline.com)
SISTERS (FOX) - Mo McRae is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Tim, "Edie's (Megalyn Echikunwoke) husband and fellow attorney." (Deadline.com)
STUMPTOWN (ABC) - Camryn Manheim is bound for the Cobie Smulders-led dram pilot as Lieutenant Roberta Volk, "Hoffman's (Michael Ealy) superior officer on the Portland Police Department, who has a no-nonsense, big-city vibe. Her path crosses with Dex (Smulders) when she supervises Hoffman's investigation into a kidnapping case." (Deadline.com)
UNDER THE BRIDGE (CBS) - Justin Kirk is set to star opposite Jennifer Morrison in the drama pilot, about surgeon Caitlin Lanchaster (Morrison). When a scandal rocks the medical practice she runs with her husband Michael (Kirk) and their friends, Caitlin rises to the occasion and takes the lead in trying to mend both the practice and her marriage. Kirk's Michael is "a charming, affable natural leader who loves the limelight and just happens to be one of the top cardiothoracic surgeons in the state." (Deadline.com)
UNTIL THE WEDDING (ABC) - Christian Coulson has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as James, "Will's (Michael Stahl-David) sexy international friend and an investor in Nick's (Trent Garrett) restaurant and Will's plus-one at the wedding." (Deadline.com)
