BATWOMAN/SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Said duo will be the only series officially participating in the network's annual crossover event. "We're still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we're only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There's a lot of characters coming from our other shows," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Pedowitz told reporters after today's 2020-21 season schedule announcement. (Deadline.com)
BOLD TYPE, THE (Freeform) - Tony-winner Ali Stroker will drop by an upcoming episode as Olivia, "a no-B.S. fashion rep who has a problematic history with Sutton's client." (EW.com)
CLOSE UP (Freeform) - The cable channel has passed on the Fivel Stewart-led drama pilot, set in Centreville, New Jersey, a suburban town just like any other ... at least on the surface. Centreville high school student Rachel Guyer is on a mission to expose the truth about her seemingly normal hometown and turn her community inside out. (Deadline.com)
GREEN ARROW & THE CANARIES/UNTITLED 100 PREQUEL, THE (The CW) - Pedowitz reintereted both spin-off projects are still under consideration at the network. "They are very much in active discussions to see what we can do," he said. "I've had many discussions with Warner Bros, we have a strategy involved - hopefully we can pull it off." (Deadline.com)
KATY KEENE (The CW) - "The linear ratings have been soft but we have seen some good streaming viewership," Pedowitz told reporters about the show's future. "We'll make a decision in a few weeks." All 13 episodes will be available on HBO Max when it launches at the end of the month. (Deadline.com)
LOST BOYS, THE (The CW) - "'Lost Boys' is a passion of mine personally, having Rob [Thomas] attached to it," Pedowitz said. "Once we get through this climate, we will make a determination on how best to proceed with Lost Boys. I'm hoping to keep it going." In the latest TV incarnation, based on the featured film, "when a mother and her Gen Z sons move to the seaside town where she grew up, they discover there's a sinister reason the local cool kids sleep all day, party all night, never grow up and never get old. Family bonds are tested as the brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a mythological struggle." (Deadline.com)
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD (ABC) - Darren Barnet has scored a role on the show's final season in which "Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the agents are thrust back in time to 1931 New York City, where they encounter Barnet's character." No other specifics were given. (Variety.com)
PERCY JACKSON (Disney+, New!) - Rick Riordan's literary-turned-feature hero is being eyed for a TV series at the streaming service. "We are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one," the author posted to social media. No other auspices were given for the project, which is expected to be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios. (@RickRiordan)
SUPERNATURAL (The CW) - "We already have five episodes in the can of 'Supernatural,' Jared [Padalecki] and Jensen [Ackles] will go back as soon as they are able to finish up the last two episodes and then Jared will go off to 'Walker,'" Pedowitz said about the series, which will see the its remaining episodes air Thursday nights at 8:00/7:00c this fall. "The two studios are in constant communication to make sure that this is a seamless handoff." Adding, "Everybody, the studio, exec producers, Jared, Jensen and Misha all want to end 15 years the right way. It is important that these two episodes they are shooting will be done the way they want to do them. We'll just wait it out. We're very much attached to this." (Deadline.com)
