ALL THE QUEEN'S MEN (BET+, New!) - The ever-prolific Tyler Perry has set up a new drama at the streamer which "follows the female owner of an upscale strip club in Atlanta who is savvy and charming." The project comes from his Tyler Perry Studios and is expected to shoot in the Georgia capital. (Deadline.com)
AMERICAN TRAGEDY (Paramount+, New!) - The streamer is developing a new anthology series which "which will tackle complicated moments in true crime." No auspices were given about the project, billed as a spiritual successor to the Paramount Network mini-series "Waco." (Deadline.com)
CLUB, THE/ERSAN KUNERI/FATMA/HOT SKULL/MIDNIGHT AT THE PERA PALACE/UNTITLED SUBMARINE STORY/UYSALS, THE (Netflix) - Filming on all seven of the aforementioned Turkish originals has begun or is about to begin. (Variety.com)
FATAL ATTRACTION (Paramount+) - The proposed feature-turned-TV series has found a new home at the streamer with a script to series order. Alexandra Cunningham and Kevin J. Hynes are penning the new take with Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stanley Jaffe and Sherry Lansing also executive producing for Amblin Television and Paramount Television Studios. Its logline is as follows: "A deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and 80s cultural touchstone FATAL ATTRACTION through the lens of modern attitudes on strong women, personality disorders, victim shaming and coercive control." Maria and Andre Jacquemetton were behind a previous incarnation set up at FOX in 2015 which never got past the script stage. (Deadline.com)
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC) - Co-creator Dave Erickson has closed an overall deal with MRC Television where he'll develop new series projects. Already in the works at the studio is "The Jaunt," based on the 1981 Stephen King short story which "explores a future where teleportation, called 'jaunting,' has become a commonplace, if still dangerous and mysterious, technology." MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN (Paramount+) - Jeremy Renner is set to star in and executive produce Taylor Sheridan's entry for the streaming service as the titular Mayor of Kingstown, Mike McLusky. Additionally, Antoine Fuqua has likewise signed on to direct and executive produce. They'll join Hugh Dillon, David Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari and Michael Friedman for MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios (Deadline.com)
NATIONAL PARKS (ABC) - Gerardo Celasco is the latest addition to the drama pilot as Lincoln Kane, "a fearless ISB Special Agent who is haunted by his past and carries the world on his shoulders. Lincoln's commitment is never in question as he finds his own way to go above and beyond the call." (Deadline.com)
NURSES (NBC) - The network has pulled the season finale of the series from its digital platforms "amid backlash from national Jewish organizations regarding a scene they accuse of being anti-Semitic." (Deadline.com)
POWER BOOK II: GHOST (Starz) - Daniel Sunjata has joined the cast of the show's second season as Mecca: "The Big Bad. He is calculated, manipulative, and dangerous. Mecca conveniently reemerges in New York at the exact moment the Tejadas need to fill the void of a new product supplier. But when his mysterious past starts to become exposed, it reveals the drug business might not be his only end game with this family." (Deadline.com)
STAR TREK SECTION 31 PROJECT (CBSAA) - The Michelle Yeoh-led spin-off series about and the mysterious Section 31 is still in "conversations" as the franchise transitions to Paramount+. Alex Kurtzman and Julie McNamara further indicated "Star Trek's" current five-series slate "will likely not expand further until at least one of the shows runs its course." (Variety.com)
TWILIGHT ZONE, THE (CBSAA) - The streamer has pulled the plug on the rebooted anthology series after two seasons. "Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg and the entire production team truly reimagined The Twilight Zone for the modern age," the rebranded Paramount+ head of programming Julie McNamara said in a statement. "They upheld the classic series' legacy of socially conscious storytelling and pushed today's viewers to explore all new dimensions of thought-provoking and topical themes that we hope will resonate with audiences for years to come." UNTITLED KENYA BARRIS PROJECT (Paramount+, New!) - Kenya Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society banner's first project through their soon-to-be-finalized overall deal with ViacomCBS will be for Paramount+. "The first series I will be involved with, we are taking an intimate look at contemporary relationships," he said. "We will explore the complicated, ever changing boundaries and sometime racy dynamics that have shaped and redefined what modern love is." No other specifics were given. (Deadline.com)
