CAMP FRIENDS (A.K.A. UNTITLED LAUREN HERSTIK PROJECT) (HBO Max) - Lauren Herstik's comedy has been ordered to pilot by the streamer. The project "revolves around four lifelong "camp friends" during their highly anticipated counselor-in-training summer. When a mysterious new girl arrives late from another camp, the girls' plan to have The Best Summer Ever gets thrown into disarray. Camp Friends live 10 months for two. Now that things are different, the "Core Four" swear an oath to do whatever it takes for their friendship to survive." Adam Goodman will also executive produce for Invisible Narratives and Jax Media. LAW & ORDER (NBC) - Jeffrey Donovan is the first to be cast in the upcoming revival of the series. He'll play a new character, an NYPD detective. Beyond Donovan, it's understood Sam Waterston and Anthony Anderson are in talks to return to reprise their roles. (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE (ABC) - Jenna Dewan's Bailey Nune has been promoted to series regular on the current fourth season of the series. (Deadline.com)
SMALLWOOD (CBS) - Julie White has joined the cast of the Pete Holmes-led midseason comedy as Helen Smallwood, "Tom's outspoken mother who raised him on her own, working two jobs to make ends meet. Ever since her husband died 30 years ago, she's been frozen in time - going to the same place, making the same tuna casserole and drinking the same beer." She replaces an unspecified guest actress from the show's original pilot presentation. (Deadline.com)
WOOL (Apple TV+) - Harriet Walter, Avi Nash and Chinaza Uche will round out the cast of the streamer's Hugh Howey adaptation. Walter will play Martha Walker, "a veteran engineer who works in Mechanical"; with Nash as Lukas Kyle, "an IT worker who rises to prominence after meeting independent and hardworking engineer Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson)"; and Uche as Paul Billings, "part of the team in the Judicial department who works alongside the Silo's Head of Judicial Security, Sims (Common)."
