9-1-1 (FOX) - Arielle Kebbel has scored a recurring role on the current season as Lucy Donato, "an LAFD Firefighter working at rival firehouse 147, but joins together with the 118 for a daring rescue. Lucy is super confident, fearless and is as quick at making life or death decisions as she is at speaking her mind. In many ways she is a daredevil counterpart to the 118's Evan 'Buck' Buckley (Oliver Stark)." (Deadline.com)
BROTHERS SUN, THE (Netflix, New!) - Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu have scored an eight-episode order for a new drama series at the streamer: "It follows a Taipei gangster, Charles Sun, who's settled into his life as a ruthless killer. But when his father is shot by a mysterious assassin, Charles must go to L.A. to protect his mother and utterly-unaware younger brother Bruce." Kevin Tancharoen will direct with Mikkel Bondesen also executive producing for Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision. (Variety.com)
DANCE BROTHERS (Netflix, New!) - Max Malka has booked a 10-part Finnish language series at the streamer which will "follow two brothers in the 20's who start a dance company." Director Taito Kawata and writer Reeta Ruotsalainen are also among the auspices for Endemol Shine Finland. Malka and Unne Sormunen are the executive producers. No other details were given. (Variety.com)
DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (The CW) - Donald Faison will drop by the show's season finale as "an unnamed mystery character seeking 'fame, fortune, and glory.'" Said role is expected to continue should the series return for an eighth season. (EW.com)
LAST ONE, THE (Disney+, New!) - Aitana Ocaña and Miguel Bernardeau are set to star in a five-episode series for the streamer described as "a coming-of-age story on the struggles to build a career, find love and the power of friendship. It tells the story of Candela (Ocaña), a young woman who works in a logistics company while pursuing her dream of becoming a singer. Her life changes one night when an international record company executive listens to her singing in a bar. That same night, Candela reunites with Diego (Bernardeau), a high-school classmate who is struggling to become a professional boxer." Anaïs Schaaff, Jordi Calafí and Joaquín Oristrell created the series for Grupo Ganga, with Eduard Cortés and Abigail Schaaff directing. (THR.com)
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (Showtime) - Željko Ivanek and Fernanda Andrade have both been cast in the upcoming vampire drama. Ivanek will play Arthur, "a scientist who is the father of Claire (Grace Gummer) and the former CEO of a once proud but now disgraced pharmaceutical empire." And Andrade is Elizabeth, "the spirited wife of Mark (Demián Bichir) and devoted mother of Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez). Elizabeth's love for her family motivates her to go to any length to protect them." They replace Larry Pine and Susan Santiago, respectively, from the original pilot. (Deadline.com)
P-VALLEY (Starz) - Psalms Salazar and Gail Bean are both bound for the show's second season. Salazar joins the cast as Whisper, "an enigmatic free spirit with a spooky streak who speaks in riddles and eerie truths. She's blessed with a direct line to the universe and sight beyond the earthly realm. The air to Roulette's fire, Whisper becomes a full-blown tornado when she hits the pole." And Bean will recur as Roulette, "a feisty wild child who truly lives up to her name - she's taking major risks and breaking allllll of Uncle Clifford's rules. Like fire, she's dangerous, unpredictable, and uncontrollable - but dazzling to watch. On and off the pole, she's turning The Pynk upside down." (Deadline.com)
WASHINGTON BLACK (Hulu) - Tom Ellis has signed onto the limited series as Christopher "Titch" Wilde, "an eccentric, passionate steampunk inventor whose youthful enthusiasm masks an inner vulnerability. A disturbing death at his family's sugar plantation catapults Titch on a remarkable journey across the sky with young George Washington Black at his side. Titch finds himself thrust into the position of mentor and father figure to Wash - a role he is ill-prepared for because Titch is chasing the shadow of his own father, an inevitable reckoning that threatens to doom him and Wash both."
