Cable Ratings Round-Up (Week of June 25-July 1): USA's 'Notice' Opens Strong
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- USA's "Burn Notice" opened to a healthy 4.0 million viewers (#T7) on Thursday, building off its lead-in, the finale to "The Starter Wife" (3.1 million, #T15; 1.2 rating/4 share in 18-49).

The series also fared well among adults 18-49 (2.0 million; 1.5 rating/5 share) and adults 25-54 (2.2 million), making it the most-watched cable program in said demographics for the night.

It was TNT's "The Closer" (6.4 million, #T1) and the 2007 "BET Awards" (6.4 million, #T1; 2.8 rating/9 share in 18-49) however that were last week's top overall draws. Both series however couldn't quite match their previous record breaking performances - last week for the former (8.8 million) and last year for the latter (6.64 million).

Also landing in the top 15: another three-hour expanded edition of USA's "WWE Raw" - 8:00 (4.8 million, #5), 9:00 (5.8 million, #3) and 10:00 (5.3 million, #4), the season finale of VH1's "Charm School" (4.1 million, #6; 2.0/6 in 18-49), a new episode of Lifetime's "Army Wives" (3.8 million, #T9; 1.5/5 in 18-49), Nick at Nite's rebroadcast of "Grease" (3.6 million, #12), the Lifetime original "Girl, Positive" (3.5 million, #13) and Wednesday's edition of "Larry King Live" on CNN (3.2 million, #14).

Meanwhile, Bravo didn't see much traction from the launch of "Hey Paula" on Thursday - 9:00 (422,000 viewers; 249,000 in 18-49), 9:30 (338,000 viewers; 181,000 in 18-49), 10:00 (619,000 viewers; 385,000 in 18-49) and 10:30 (596,000 viewers; 391,000 in 18-49). Note that the 9:00 and 9:30 installments were unpublicized previews of the 10:00 and 10:30 episodes.

Overall, "Paula's" audience paled in comparison to the bows of "Top Design" (1.76 million), "Top Chef" (1.28 million) and "Being Bobby Brown" (1.1 million).

And finally, TNT's "Heartland" slumped to 3.0 million viewers (800,000 in 18-49) for its second episode.
