BURBANK, Calif. � December 4, 2007 � Bookended by strong ratings on Monday from "Heroes" and on Sunday from "NBC Sunday Night Football," NBC averaged a 3.0 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers overall for the week of November 26-December 2, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

This week's "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers was the #1 telecast of the week among men 18-49, men 25-54 and men 18-34 (tied with "Heroes"). Among adults 18-49, "Sunday Night Football" ranked #7 among all programs this week.

This week, "Heroes" ranked #8 among all programs in adults 18-49 and #3 among adults 18-34 (behind only "House" and "Desperate Housewives"). "Heroes" was the #1 program of the week among men 18-34, tied with "NBC Sunday Night Football."

On a season-to-date basis, "NBC Sunday Night Football" is the #1 television program in all key adult male demographics -- men 18-49, men 18-34 and men 25-54. "Heroes" ranks #3 among all programs in men 18-49 and men 18-34 and #4 (tied) among men 25-54. Season-to-date in adults 18-49, "NBC Sunday Night Football" ranks #5 and "Heroes" ranks #6 among all programs. "Heroes" is the #1 Monday show season-to-date in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and other key demographic measures.

Through the first 10 weeks of the 2007-08 season, NBC's median age has gotten 1.9 years younger, moving to 45.2 years this season from 47.1 years at this point last season. In this same comparison, ABC's median age has increased by 2.2 years (to 49.3 from 47.1) and CBS's median age has increased to 52.6 years from 52.0 at this point last season. Fox's median age has declined from 45.3 years to 44.6 years, reflecting in part fewer hours of baseball on Fox's primetime schedule this season versus last.

Primetime averages for the week of November 26-December 2 in adults 18-49 were ABC (4.0/10), Fox (3.1/8), NBC (3.0/8), CBS (2.7/7) Univision (1.7/4), CW (1.1/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were ABC (12.5 million), CBS (10.6 million), Fox (8.3 million), NBC (8.2 million), Univision (4.0 million), CW (2.7 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 26-December 2:

* On Monday, "Heroes" achieved its highest 18-49 rating and total viewership in eight weeks. "Heroes" ranked #1 in its time period in adults, men, women 18-49 and other key demographics.

* Also on Monday, "Chuck" scored its highest 18-49 rating since October 15 and attracted its largest total viewership since October 1. "Chuck" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-34

* Additionally on Monday, "Journeyman" posted week-to-week gains of 9 percent in 18-49 and 8 percent in total viewers, and ranked #2 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, outperforming the regular slot season debut of ABC's "October Road."

* On Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" was up 28 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in its time period last season. "Loser" also gained 35 percent in 18-49 rating from its first to its final half-hour.

* Also on Tuesday, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" gained 18 percent week-to-week in adults 18-49 to hit a five-week high in the demo, despite atypically strong competition from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" finale.

* On Wednesday, "Life" retained 100 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from the previous hour and the freshman drama built on its lead-in by 6 percent in total viewers. From its first to its second half hour, "Life" grew by 10 percent in 18-49 rating and 5 percent in total viewers. .

* On Thursday, "ER" ranked #1 in its time period in every key demographic measure � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 � versus a first-run episode of ABC's "Big Shots" and an encore of CBS's "Without a Trace." From half-hour to half-hour, "ER" increased by 9 percent in 18-49 rating and by 7 percent in total viewers while both "Big Shots" and "Without a Trace" declined.

* On Friday, "Deal or No Deal" was the top show on any network in total viewers. "Deal" ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in overall viewers in its hour.

* On Saturday, the special "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" unwrapped NBC's biggest total viewership in the time period since February.

* Paced by "Sunday Night Football," NBC won Sunday night in men 18-49 and men 25-54 and finished one-tenth of a rating point out of first place in adults 18-49.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 26-December 2:

On Monday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" (3.3 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) achieved its highest 18-49 rating since October 15 and biggest overall viewership since October 1, up 6 percent in 18-49 and 13 percent in total viewers versus the prior week. "Chuck" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-34.

"Chuck" has generated half-hour-to-half-hour increases with every one of its 10 original Monday telecasts, this week growing by 17 percent in 18-49 rating from its first to its second half hour (to a 3.5 from a 3.0). In total viewers, "Chuck" increased by 9 percent from half-hour to half-hour (to 8.8 million from 8.1 million).

Monday from 9-10:01 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (5.3/12 in 18-49, 11.9 million viewers overall) scored its highest 18-49 rating and overall viewership in eight weeks (since October 1), up 4 percent in 18-49 and 10 percent in total viewers versus the prior week.

"Heroes" ranked #1 in its time period in adults, men and women 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34 and men 25-54. "Heroes" built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 61 percent in 18-49 rating.

Monday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "Journeyman" (2.4/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) was up 9 percent in 18-49 rating and 8 percent in total viewers versus the prior week's telecast. "Journeyman" ranked #2 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, total viewers and other key measures, outperforming the regular-slot season premiere of ABC's "October Road."

On Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" (3.2/8 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) was up 28 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's average in this time period last season (3.2 vs. 2.5). From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Loser" gained 35 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.5/8 from a 2.6/7) and 17 percent in total viewers (to 7.7 million from 6.6 million).

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.6/12 in 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall) was up 18 percent week-to-week in adults 18-49 to deliver its highest rating in the demo in five weeks, despite atypical competition in the time period from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" finale. In total viewers, "SVU" was up 5 percent week to week. "SVU" ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and other key measures versus the "Dancing" finale.

From its first to its second half-hour, "SVU" grew by 11 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.9/12 from a 4.4/11) and by 13 percent in total viewers (to 13.0 million from 11.6 million).

On Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the special "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (2.0/5 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the hour in overall total viewers. The special grew from its first to its second half-hour by 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.2/6 from a 1.8/5) and by 12 percent in total viewers (to 9.4 million from 8.4 million).

Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET, "Bionic Woman" averaged a 2.2/5 in 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Life" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) retained 100 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from the previous hour. In total viewers, "Life" built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 6 percent. "Life" increased by 10 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.3/7 from a 2.1/6) and by 5 percent in total viewers (to 6.4 million from 6.1 million) from its first to its second half-hour.

On Thursday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. ET, "My Name is Earl" (2.6/7 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-34. At 8:30 p.m., "30 Rock" (2.5/6 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) retained 96 percent of its 18-49 lead-in and ranked #2 in the slot in adults 18-49 (tied) and adults 18-34 and #1 among men 18-34.

Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Office" (2.9/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the time period in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 and finished within one share of the time period lead in adults 18-49. From 9:31-10:01 p.m. "Scrubs" (3.0/7 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 and #2 (tied) among adults 18-49.

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "ER" (3.4/9 in 18-49, 8.7 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in the time period in every key demographic measure � adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 � versus a first-run episode of ABC's "Big Shots" and an encore of CBS's "Without a Trace." From half-hour to half-hour, "ER" increased by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.6/10 from a 3.3/8) and by 7 percent in total viewers (to 9.0 million from 8.4 million) while both "Big Shots" and "Without a Trace" declined.

On Friday, Nov. 30 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (2.4/8 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in total viewers. "Deal" was the #1 show on any network Friday night in total viewers.

Friday from 9-10 p.m. ET, "Friday Night Lights" (1.7/5 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-34. It is worth noting that in "live plus seven day" results through November 18, "Friday Night Lights" has been increasing an average 18 percent from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" ratings. Also worth noting, through November 11, "Friday Night Lights" was the most upscale drama on broadcast primetime television and the second most upscale series overall (behind only NBC's "The Office"), delivering a 141 index of adults 18-49 in $100K+ homes (with a 100 index representing an average concentration of $100K+ homes in the adult 18-49 audience).

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, "Las Vegas" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in men 18-49 and men 25-54. "Las Vegas" increased by 11 percent in 18-49 rating from its first to its second half hour (to a 2.1/6 from a 1.9/5), moving to a #1 ranking in adults 18-49 in the 10:30-11 p.m. half hour.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) delivered NBC's second-highest 18-49 rating in the time period this season (behind only last week's telecast of the movie "The Incredibles") and the network's highest total viewership in the hour since February 10. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Chuck" averaged a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore "Law & Order: SVU" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 75 percent in 18-49 rating.

On Sunday, Dec. 2, "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Pittsburgh Steelers, averaged a 5.7/13 in adults 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall and a 9.1/14 household rating and share from 8:25-11:24 p.m. ET.

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m.), NBC averaged a 4.8/11 in adults 18-49, finishing one-tenth of a rating point out of first place in the demo, and 12.3 million viewers overall to also rank #2 for the night in total viewers. NBC was #1 on Sunday night among men 18-49 and men 25-54.

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-8 p.m. ET averaged a 1.7/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall and a 2.9 rating, 5 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 8-8:15 p.m. delivered a 2.6/7 in 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall and a 4.7/7 in households. From 8:15-8:25 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 3.4/8 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall and a 5.8/9 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
