"AMERICAN HORROR STORY #1" SERIES PREMIERE IN FX HISTORY

Highest Delivery of Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Women 18-49 and Women 18-34

AHS Audience Grows As Episode Three Tops Series Debut

LOS ANGELES, October 25, 2011 - As the DVR universe grows, it is becoming increasingly clear that the reporting of Live+Same Day ratings fails to tell the full story. Such is the case with FX's new drama series American Horror Story, which now ranks as the #1 series premiere ever for the network among its target demos of Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Based on Live+7 data from The Nielsen Company, the series premiere of AHS (10/5/11, 10:00 PM) delivered 3.14 million Adults 18-49 and 1.77 million Adults 18-34, which marked enormous gains of +54% and +49% in those demos when compared to the Live+Same Day premiere data. The debut episode of AHS also ranks #1 all-time among FX series premieres in delivery of Women 18-49 and Women 18-34. (See complete ratings chart below.)

Furthermore, the third episode of American Horror Story, which had a lower delivery of Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 than the premiere episode on a Live+Same Day basis, has now surpassed the premiere episode in delivery of those demos on a Live+3 basis (A18-49 - 2.82 million vs. 2.78 million; A18-34 - 1.76 million vs. 1.55 million).

"We were extremely happy with the premiere ratings for American Horror Story the day after its debut and these final numbers confirm, without question, that the series premiere was a bona fide success," said John Landgraf, President and General Manager. "While the ratings for the premiere episode were outstanding, it's even more impressive that the third episode delivered higher numbers than the premiere. I tip my hat to the producers, our amazing cast and crew, especially to Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk who are proven hitmakers."

Tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 26 at 10:00 PM ET/PT, is the first of a special two-part Halloween-themed episode of American Horror Story - "Halloween, Part 1" - guest starring feature film star Zachary Quinto (Star Trek). "Halloween, Part 2" airs on Wednesday, November 2 at 10 PM ET/PT. Also, FX has scheduled a special Halloween marathon of American Horror Story featuring the first four episodes of the series on Monday, October 31st beginning at 10:00 PM E/P.

American Horror Story revolves around the Harmons, a family of three who moved from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish. The all-star cast features Dylan McDermott as "Ben Harmon," a psychiatrist; Connie Britton as "Vivien Harmon," Ben's wife; Taissa Farmiga as "Violet," the Harmon's teenage daughter; Jessica Lange in her first-ever regular series TV role as "Constance," the Harmon's neighbor; Evan Peters plays "Tate Langdon," one of Ben's patients; and Denis O'Hare as "Larry Harvey." Guest stars for the series include Frances Conroy as the Harmon's housekeeper; Alexandra Breckenridge as the Harmon's housekeeper; and Jamie Brewer as Constance's daughter.

American Horror Story was co-created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, who serve as Executive Producers along with Dante Di Loreto. The series is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.
