During the week of 5/19/14, which included the final 3 days of the 2013-14 broadcast season, the season finale of ABC's Modern Family solidified its claim as TV's #1 program of the week with Adults 18-49 in the final Live+7 Day ratings, distancing itself from runner-up NBC's The Voice-Tues by more than +2.0 rating points (+2.1 rating points - 6.0 rating vs. 3.9 rating). In the initial Live + Same Day ratings, Modern Family led The Voice-Tues by 4-tenths of a rating point in Adults 18-49. In addition, Modern Family moved ahead of The Voice-Tues in Total Viewers to lead by nearly 3.0 million viewers in the L+7 Day statistics (+2.8 million Viewers - 15.9 million vs. 13.1 million) and finished as the week's 2nd-most-watched TV series overall. In fact, ABC claimed the week's Top 2 most-watched series, with the Monday finale of DWTS (17.0 million) and Modern Family (15.9 million).

Modern Family was the week's biggest gainer in TV playback in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, adding on +5.4 million viewers and +2.3 rating points to its Live + Same Day numbers. Growing to 15.9 million Total Viewers and a 6.0 rating in Adults 18-49 in the final L+7 numbers, the finale of the ABC sitcom attracted the show's biggest audience since its season premiere and scored its highest young adult rating since October 2013 - since 9/25/13 and 10/2/13, respectively.
