BEVERLEY'S WAR (HBO Max, New!) - Writer Julia Ruchman and director Susanna Fogel are spearheading a potential limited series at the streamer based on Cathy Schottenstein's upcoming non-fiction book: "Beverley Schottenstein said two grandsons who managed her money at JPMorgan forged documents, ran up commissions with inappropriate trading and made her miss tens of millions of dollars in gains. So she decided to teach them all a lesson." Fogel, Smriti Mundhra, Nina Anand Aujla and Gigi Pritzker will executive produce for Meralta Films and Madison Wells Media with Cathy Schottenstein as a co-executive producer. (Variety.com)
DOOM PATROL/TITANS (HBO Max) - The streamer has pulled the plug on both DC Comics adaptations after four seasons with their final episodes due later this year. "While these will be the final seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol, we are very proud of these series and excited for fans to see their climactic endings," an HBO Max spokesperson said. "We are grateful to Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television for making such thrilling, action-packed, heartfelt series. We thank Titans showrunner Greg Walker, executive producers Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, Richard Hatem, and the team at Weed Road Pictures. For Doom Patrol, we celebrate showrunner Jeremy Carver and executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns, Chris Dingess and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson. For four seasons, fans have fallen in love with the Titans and Doom Patrol, investing in their trials and tribulations, and in their legendary battles saving the world time and time again." (Deadline.com)
EXTRAORDINARY (Hulu) - The streamer has commissioned a second season of the series, the same day of its launch. (Deadline.com)
FRASIER (REBOOT SERIES) (Paramount+) - Newcomer Anders Keith has been cast as Niles and Daphne's son David in the sequel series: "An awkward college freshman with a penchant for off-kilter observations, Frasier's nephew David (Keith) has Niles' intelligence, Daphne's smile, and neither of their polish. David's unearned confidence may confuse some, but Frasier has a fondness for his nephew's earnest enthusiasm." (Deadline.com)
GOTHAM KNIGHTS (The CW) - Ethan Embry and Sunny Mabrey will both recur on the freshman drama. Mabrey will play Crystal Brown: "Elegant and eye-catching, as the wife of a local celebrity, Crystal exudes a natural, camera-ready charisma. However, to those closest to her, Crystal runs warm as sunshine one minute, and brutally ice cold the next, because she's battling a secret addiction that could ruin the lives of her entire family." And Embry is set as Arthur Brown: "The meticulous and eccentric host of a Jeopardy-like game show, Arthur is always the smartest person in the room - and he knows it. On the surface, he's charming and perfectly coiffed, with high expectations for his daughter, the only person who comes close to matching his intellect. But a dark side lurks beneath the surface, with Arthur extremely careful to keep his family's personal life from becoming public fodder, even if it means breaking a few rules." (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY/STATION 19 (ABC) - Krista Vernoff is stepping down as executive producer and showrunner of both series following their current seasons. Meg Marinis is expected to succeed Vernoff on the former with Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige taking over the latter. (Deadline.com)
KOALA MAN/SOLAR OPPOSITES (Hulu) - The streamer has severed ties with Justin Roiland, one day after Adult Swim did the same. The performer/producer has been "charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit by the Orange County District Attorney's office." (Deadline.com)
OTHER BLACK GIRL, THE (Hulu) - Shakirah DeMesier, Langston Kerman and Cassi Maddox are the latest additions to the upcoming drama. DeMesier will play the young version of Diana, "an aspiring author whose book "Burning Heart" is on the edge of becoming a national bestseller." Kerman then is set as Jesse Watson, "a podcast and YouTube host who covers all of the bases on what plagues society and the plight of Black people today." And Maddox is young Kendra Rae, "the only Black female editor at Wagner Books in 1983." (Variety.com)
PRESUMED INNOCENT (Apple TV+) - Bill Camp and Elizabeth Marvel are set to star opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Negga in the limited series. Camp and Marvel, "who are married in real-life, will portray husband and wife Raymond Horgan and Lorraine Horgan in the series. Raymond Horgan was portrayed by Brian Dennehy in the 1990 film." (Deadline.com)
SMALL MERCIES (Apple TV+, New!) - The streamer is developing a TV series based on Dennis Lehane's upcoming novel as part of an exclusive overall deal between Apple Studios and his Hans Bubby banner. Bradley Thomas, Kary Antholis and Richard Plepler also serve as executive producers on the project, "billed as an all-consuming tale of revenge, family love, festering hate, and insidious power, set against one of the most tumultuous episodes in Boston's history." Lehane was behind the limited series "Black Bird" and the upcoming "Firebug," both for the streaming service. (Variety.com)
UNFRIENDLY BLACK HOTTIES (HBO Max, New!) - Keke Palmer, Jermaine Crawford and Amy Aniobi are set to team for a new comedy at the streamer billed as "comedic satire exploring Gen-Z's weaponization of political correctness told through the eyes of four high school girls." The trio are co-writing and executive producing alongside Lenoria Addison and Aanch Khaneja for SuperSpecial Inc., Big Boss Entertainment and Entertainment One. (Variety.com)
