BACHELOR, THE/BACHELORETTE, THE (ABC) - Franchise creator Mike Fleiss is stepping down from the series after more than 20 years. "First and foremost, congratulations are in order for Zach and Kaity. I wish them a long and happy life together. I want to thank WBTV and ABC for 21 extraordinary years. They've found the perfect creative team for me to entrust The Bachelor franchise and keep this lightening in a bottle bold and moving forward. Let the journey continue," Fleiss said. (Deadline.com)
BRITANNIA (Epix) - Original broadcaster Sky has decided not to renew the series for a fourth season. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE/TESTAMENTS, THE (Hulu) - Eric Tuchman and Yahlin Chang have been named co-showrunners for the sixth and final season of "The Handmaid's Tale." They'll take over from Bruce Miller, who's pivoting to the sequel series. (THR.com)
HIDE (Peacock) - Ingrid Escajeda has signed a first look deal with Universal Television, home to the previously announced Kiersten White adaptation for Peacock. She'll continue to develop new series projects via her Sugarwitch Productions banner. (Deadline.com)
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON (HBO) - The show's upcoming second season will consist of eight episodes, two fewer than season one. Said report indicates the episode count trim was story-driven not financial. (Deadline.com)
LOL: LAST ONE LAUGHING - SOUTH AFRICA (Amazon, New!) - Trevor Noah is set to host the South African incarnation of the "LOL: Last One Laughing" format. Rapid Blue and Noah's Day Zero Productions are behind the six-episode project, which "will see Noah pit 10 famous South African comedians and entertainers against one another to see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh - and lose." (Deadline.com)
UPSHAWS, THE (Netflix) - Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz have signed a two-year first-look deal with Warner Bros. Television. Their company Push It Productions is currently behind the Netflix series. (THR.com)
X-FILES, THE: ALBUQUERQUE (FOX) - The network has passed on the proposed animated spin-off series. The project received a script and presentation commitment back in August of 2020. In its stead, it's understood Ryan Coogler is developing a new "diverse" reboot for a yet-to-be-determined outlet, not FOX. No other details however were given. (TVLine.com)
