1883: THE BASS REEVES STORY (Paramount+) - Dale Dickey, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty and Tosin Morohunfola are the latest tapped to recur on the series. Dickey will play Widow Dolliver, "an old woman who has seen it all, and who does not waste time suffering fools"; with Bingham as Sara Jumper, "a black Seminole Native American whom Bass will owe a debt of gratitude toward"; Mo Brings Plenty as Minco Dodge, "a Choctaw Native American and friend to Bass Reeves"; and Morohunfola as Jackson "Jackrabbit" Cole, "a former Union soldier turned prisoner that rides along with Bass Reeves." ANGRY BIRDS MYSTERY ISLAND (Amazon, New!) - Amazon Studios has commissioned 24 episodes of a new "Angry Birds" animated series from Eric Rogers which "will follow three new hatchlings - Mia, Rosie, and Buddy - and a foreign-exchange piglet named Hamylton on their all-expenses-paid island getaway, where they find themselves mistakenly catapulted onto an uncharted island. Left to explore the exotic sights, smells, and unexplained phenomena of their new environment without any adults around, the ragtag bunch quickly learns that, in order to survive and make it back home, they will need to unlock the mysteries of the island together." Harvey Guillén, Kate Micucci, Dominic Monaghan and Nasim Pedrad lead the voice cast. Titmouse's Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina will also executive produce. DARK SIDE OF THE 2000S (Vice, New!) - The cable channel will roll out a new 10-episode series under its "Dark Side" umbrella on July 18 at 10:00/9:00c: "From outrageous shock jocks to record breaking reality TV, and the rise of celebrity gossip to the downward spiral of a child star, 'Dark Side of the 2000s' delves into the decade's untold histories, revealing dark secrets and personal insights from the people who witnessed it all first hand." Mark McGrath narrates the series for Railsplitter Pictures and Insight Productions with Matthew Ginsburg, Tim Healy, Mark Lysakowski, John Brunton and Lee Hoffman as the executive producers and Vanessa Hill as a producer. EMILY IN PARIS (Netflix) - Filming on the show's fourth season has been delayed by the WGA strike until at least the end of fall. (Variety.com)
PERRY MASON (HBO) - The pay channel has passed on ordering a third season of the Matthew Rhys-led drama. "We are tremendously grateful for the remarkable work of Matthew Rhys and the unrivaled cast and crew of Perry Mason for their reimagining of such a treasured and storied franchise," HBO said in a statement. "While we won't be moving forward with another season of the series, we are excited to continue working with the brilliant creatives at Team Downey on future projects." (Deadline.com)
REGINALD THE VAMPIRE (Syfy) - Garfield Wilson will recur on the upcoming second season as Balestro, "a confident, poised and intimidating Angel who descends from heaven to announce the eventual extinction of all vampires on the planet.
