Pilot Update: April 11

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:

CRAZY LOVE (CBS) - William Daniels ("Boy Meets World") will play husband to Cloris Leachman and father to Peter MacNichol in the Eye's comedy pilot.

OLD SCHOOL (UPN) - Tessie Santiago ("Good Morning, Miami") has signed on to UPN's comedy pilot presentation.

THE POOL AT MADDY BREAKER'S (FOX) - Nicholas Brendon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Eric Nenninger ("Malcolm in the Middle") and Matt Bushell ("Angel") are set as Jeff, Bob and Rodger respectively in FOX's comedy pilot about three 28-year-olds (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Jill Ritchie, Reagan Pasternak) who were popular in high school but went nowhere after that.

SIXTEEN TO LIFE (WB) - Jon Tenney ("Get Real," "Kristin") will star as a down-on-his-luck father who's taken care of by his 16-year-old daughter (Sprague Grayden) in the Frog's comedy pilot.

STARTING OVER (Syndication) - NBC Enterprises' latest syndicated offering has been cleared in 80% of the United States for the 2003-04 season. The clearances include 29 of the top 30 markets and 46 of the top 50. The reality series will feature a group of women who each have a compelling reason to start their lives over. The participants then move into a house in Chicago as they pursue their various efforts to start their lives over.

UNTITLED HOWIE MANDEL PROJECT (NBC) - Stacy Galina has been tapped as the female lead in Mandel's untitled comedy for the Peacock.

VEGAS DICK (UPN) - Katherine Heigl ("Roswell") is on board UPN's drama presentation about a former con man who ends up the inhouse detective at a hard rock-like casino in Vegas.
