MICHAEL IMPERIOLI ("THE SOPRANOS") REPRISES HIS ROLE AS DETECTIVE NICK FALCO ON NBC'S 'LAW & ORDER,' MAY 10, 10-11 ET/PT

Imperioli's Falco Finds Himself Under Investigation for Murder

"He's in a bit of trouble," said Imperioli

NEW YORK - May 8, 2006 - Emmy Award winner Michael Imperioli ("The Sopranos") reprises his role as Detective Nick Falco on NBC's "Law & Order" to air Wed., May 10 at 10-11 p.m. ET/PT. This time the detective, who has an immense passion for making the world safe, is the one feeling the heat when he finds himself under investigation for murder. Photos available at www.NBCUMV.com.

"He's in a bit of trouble," said Imperioli. "The last time we saw this character he was going to night school, which he's still doing, but he was married and had kids. In the interim his wife left him and took the kids. He's kind of hit hard times."

In "Hindsight," the tables are turned on Detective Falco when he wakes to discover the woman he took home the night before slashed to death in his bathroom. Detectives Fontana (Dennis Farina) and Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Lieutenant Van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson) proceed with a thorough investigation in the hope that their colleague did not commit the crime, but they grow increasingly skeptical of Falco and suspect a cover-up when they learn the detective is conducting his own unauthorized investigation. Sam Waterston, Annie Parisse and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

Imperioli first starred as Detective Falco, the younger detective and partner of Joe Fontana (Farina), in the final four episodes of "Law & Order's" 2004-05 season. He filled in for Martin, who took a short leave to shoot the film version of the hit musical "Rent."

Imperioli is best known to television audiences as the hot-headed Christopher Moltisanti on the Emmy Award-winning HBO series "The Sopranos." He won an Emmy for his high profile role and has also appeared in numerous films and television series. He also appeared in a guest-starring role on "Law & Order" in 1996 and Dick Wolf's Fox series "New York Undercover" in 1997.

"Law & Order" is produced by Wolf Films in association with NBC Universal Television Studio.
