ESPN'S NFL COVERAGE UP 30% VS. 2005

LAST NIGHT, ESPN LEADS ALL NETWORKS FOR KEY MALE DEMOS 20.4 GROSS RATINGS POINTS ON TV, 27 MILLION PAGE VIEWS ON ESPN.COM

Last night, ESPN earned a 10.2 rating for the Philadelphia Eagles' 31-9 defeat of the Green Bay Packers, representing 9,426,000 homes, cable television's fourth-biggest audience of all time, and third-biggest this year, behind only previous MNF telecasts. It was the third-straight week that MNF earned a rating over a 10.

In addition, last night ESPN led all networks - cable or broadcast - in delivery of all key male demos, including nearly twice as many men 18-34 as the nearest competitor. MNF continues to boost ESPN's ratings throughout the day; adding in the pre- and post-game shows, ESPN delivered 20.4 gross ratings points.

Online, ESPN.com's NFL and "Monday Night Surround" content viewed on computers and wireless devices generated more than 27 million page views Monday, up 68 percent over page views last year according to Web measurement tool HitBox. In addition, there were 1.5 million views of pro-football-related videos on ESPN Motion and ESPN360 on Monday (through Tuesday at noon).

For the NFL season to date, MNF on ESPN is averaging a 10.3 rating and 9,477,000 homes (12,935,000 P2+). These represent increases of 30%, 32% and 33%, respectively, compared to the first four weeks of last year's ESPN Sunday Night Football (7.9 rating, 7.165 million homes, 9.746 million viewers). ESPN's five MNF games so far are cable television's best ratings and largest audiences of the year.

ESPN's MNF telecast was simulcast on local over-the-air channels in Milwaukee (23.0 rating) and Philadelphia (20.3 rating), boosting the network's audience to an estimated average of 10,227,000 households.

Sunday NFL Countdown Up 15%, Monday Night Countdown Up 35%

* Sunday NFL Countdown is averaging a 2.3, up 15% from a 2.0 at this point last year. Sunday, the show earned a 2.4 rating, representing 2,224,000 homes, the most in the regular season in nearly three years - since Nov. 2, 2003 (2,263,000, based on a 2.6 rating).
