LOS ANGELES - September 16, 2007 - NBC turned in its best Emmy showing since 2002 and once again dominated all broadcast networks collecting a total of 19 statuettes between last week's Creative Arts Emmys and tonight's Primetime awards. The Peacock Network won seven at the Primetime awards and 12 at the Creative Arts Emmys.

Tonight proved to be a magical and impressive evening for NBC and Universal Media Studios as the network soundly defeated all other broadcast networks, racking up its best showing since 2002. Universal Media Studios (nee NBC Universal Television Studio) won a record 13 Emmys, spearheaded by "30 Rock," "Saturday Night Live" and "The Office" with two each.

NBC Universal cable networks, USA Network, Bravo and SCI FI Channel also picked up a total of five Emmys between the two Emmy-fests.

Leading the way for the NBC network was the critically acclaimed special, "Tony Bennett: An American Classic," which won a total of seven Emmys including Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Bennett, himself, won an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Performance. Airing Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 from 8-9 p.m. (ET), "Tony Bennett: An American Classic" averaged 6.4 million viewers overall.

Freshman series "30 Rock" rocked the house with a win as Outstanding Comedy Series. "30 Rock" was the second-most upscale comedy on network television last season, behind only NBC's "The Office," in concentration of affluent homes in its adult 18-49 audience. For the season, "30 Rock" averaged a 2.7 in 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall.

After 11 consecutive tries, "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" finally won Emmy gold for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Series.

"All of us at NBC share in the excitement of this wonderful Emmy Awards night and congratulate every one of our talented winners, both at the network and the studio," said Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. "It is especially gratifying to see that their industry peers have honored them, and that they share our passion and admiration for their excellent work this past year."

"We are extremely proud of our Emmy winners who were recognized tonight," added Marc Graboff, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. "The recognition that these artists and shows so richly deserve will provide NBC with additional momentum as we approach the new season."
