ACE IN THE HOLE (CBS) - Pamela Adlon ("Californication") has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, which stars Adam Carolla as a husband and father who works as a driving instructor. She'll play his caring wife Susanna, a nurse and mother of two. Darien Provost and Skylar Astin also star in the CBS Paramount Network Television-based half-hour, which Carolla co-wrote alongside Kevin Hench.
FIRE IN THE HOLE (FX) - Timothy Olyphant ("Damages") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about a U.S. Marshal who returns to his hometown in Kentucky. He'll play said man, Raylan Givens, in the Sony Pictures Television-based hour, which is based on Elmore Leonard's short story of the same name. Michael Dinner is helming the project from a script by Graham Yost. Production is set to begin next month.
GIULIANA & BILL (Style, New!) - E! personality Giuliana Rancic and her husband, "The Apprentice" alum Bill Rancic are set to be the focus of a new reality series at the cable channel. Due in August, the project aims to capture the difficulties of having a healthy relationship while living in different cities - she's in Los Angeles while he's in Chicago. The pair's wedding was featured in the highly-rated special "Marry Me in Capri" in 2007. Comcast Entertainment Productions is behind the newcomer with Jay James, Carmen Mitcho, Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung serving as executive producers.
UNTITLED JUSTIN ADLER PROJECT (NBC) - Co-star Leslie Bibb has departed the comedy pilot following last week's behind-the-scenes shakeup in which creator Justin Adler exited the show. Missi Pyle has been tapped to replace her as Vanessa, the eldest sibling, a perfect domestic goddess. Pyle's involvement is in second position to her duties on the CBS comedy pilot "The Big D." Moses Port and David Guarascio are now shepherding the half-hour, which is based at Sony Pictures Television.
