By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

17TH PRECINCT (A.K.A. UNTITLED RONALD MOORE PROJECT) (NBC) - The Ronald D. Moore-penned hour - "an ensemble drama in the "Hill Street Blues" vein, albeit set in the town of Excelsior, where magic and supernatural elements rule over science" - has been ordered to pilot by the Peacock. Sony Pictures Television, where Moore's overall deal is based, is producing.

BONES (FOX) - Michael Clarke Duncan ("The Green Mile") is the first to be cast in the proposed spin-off, about Walter Sherman, a former military policeman who can find anything. He'll play Walter's partner Leo Martinez, "a gentle-giant cowboy philosopher." Said hour, which will air as the 17th episode this season (entitled "The Finder"), is based on "The Locator" books written by Richard Greener.

THE LAST DAYS OF MAN (A.K.A. MAN UP) (ABC) - Jack Burditt's comedy, about "a man who tries to maintain his manliness in a world increasingly dominated by women," has snagged a pilot commitment from the Alphabet. Becky Clements, Marty Adelstein and Shawn Levy also serve as executive producers on the half-hour, which comes from 20th Century Fox Television and their studio-based 21 Laps-Adelstein banner.

THE OFFICE (NBC) - Ricky Gervais will reportedly make a cameo on the show's January 27 episode. "It's a little more than if you blink, you'll miss it, but if you don't set your TiVo right, you'll miss it," executive producer Paul Lieberstein told Vulture. "Ricky had wanted to do something [with the U.S. Office] and it felt like we shouldn't go the whole series without them connecting."

SHARK TANK (ABC) - The Alphabet will roll out the show's sophomore season on Friday, March 25 at 8:00/7:00c, where it will take over for the departing "Supernanny." The reality series features budding entrepreneurs as they "try to convince five tough, multi-millionaire tycoons (Barbara Corcoran, Kevin Harrington, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary) to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to jumpstart their business ideas." Said group will be joined by Jeff Foxworthy and Mark Cuban in three episodes each.

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN (ABC) - The "heart stopping competition" series, featuring "a game of cat and mouse between two teams," is set to launch Thursday, April 14 at 8:00/7:00c. Six episodes have been ordered of the project, which comes from "The Amazing Race" executive producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Jonathan Littman and Elise Doganieri. Full details are expected to be revealed tomorrow when said date is formally announced.
